Located S-W of Landes forest, North to Bayonne city, Orx swamps are 3 millions years old. They were temporarily artificialy dried from 3rd Empire till 1980 and then reinvested by water. They are now a natural reservation and a shelter for numerous migrator birds, rare mammals and turtule species. Recently they welcomed two dozens of flamingos for the first time in the South-West of France.
