The building, a monument of architecture, was built by Mihail Kogalniceanu in 1842 . During World War I George Enescu lived here. Then, between 1918 - 1936, Mihail Sadoveanu. Kogalniceanu was a prime minister. George Enescu was was a composer, conductor, and teacher. Sadoveanu was a writer.
