St. Michael's Cathedral - the oldest building Vydubychi Monastery, built in 1070-1088 years of the Great Prince Vsevolod, son of Yaroslav the Wise.

Although construction began when Prince Vsevolod Pereyaslavl was and was renovated during his reign Chernihiv, he is considered the founder of the monastery and ktytorom Cathedral.

The eastern wall of the temple suffered from landslides that occurred due to flooding. In the middle of the XVII century. own funds temple restored Metropolitan Petro Mohyla. After a fire in 1760 the cathedral was rebuilt by architect M. I. Yurasova. The next restoration was carried out in the 1974-1981 biennium.
