Adversities have never been novelty to Makarand Utpat that began with his humble childhood. After completing his Masters in computer science degree in US, he worked with numerous prestigious firms, including the likes of IBM. After accidentally discovering that he had zero Google footprint and that he was irrelevant in today’s new creator economy, Makarand decided to rebrand himself. When Makarand decided to go all chips in to start his entrepreneurship journey, he knew that there were no guarantees of success and he also knew excuses can get you only so far. Makarand tried to imagine how he had overcome the adversities he had experienced in his childhood days where there was no support system nor the guidance and in spite of that, he was able to come out ahead. Makarand remembers that he was never the tallest dude on the block nor he had bagged the gold medals by scoring high marks in the exams nor he was the fastest. While growing up, he shared 320 Sq ft tiny apartment and bathroom with his siblings, parents and grandma. He grew up in a town that was right next to the 3rd largest slum in the world. So, poverty or adversities were not a novelty for him. He had seen what it feels like to be an outcast and denied and ignored. English was his 2nd language. Sometimes the best transformations happen when you make decisions in split seconds. He knew that when he decided to embrace social entrepreneurship. With his back against the wall, Makarand achieved his initial objectives of establishing a strong online presence and now helps business owners and coaches get found and discovered by growing their YouTube channel, launching podcasts, designing websites and publishing books. Makarand always have believed in walking the talk. He is a coach and an advisor to many business owners. His coaching philosophy is based on bringing clarity to the clients, teaching them how to stay in their own lanes, create systems and delivering maximum value so that they can increase their authority and visibility which ultimately, leads to more income and freedom. Another piece of advice he would like to share is to get the basics of your business ecosystem ready. Things such as website, social media, pixels, lead magnet, retargeting, autoresponders. Once set up in a systematic way, it allows his clients to capture the leads in a consistent manner and thus, they can focus on their creative zone much better. He has created multiple programs and online courses to help business owners and has been featured in reputed TV shows and radio interviews. Makarand also truly believes in giving back to the community and social causes. He is a co-founder of non-profit that has raised and donated more than $100,000 to the needy charities supporting various causes such as tribal kids’ education, youth development, disaster recovery and more.
