Bolzano Duomo Bozner Dom

The Cathedral of Bolzano, dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, is the most important church in the city of Bolzano and the co-cathedral of the Diocese of Bolzano-Bressanone; in German it is called Dom Maria Himmelfahrt or Bozner Dom or Propsteipfarrkirche Bozen.
In the fall of 1948, with the restoration of the cathedral of Bolzano severely damaged by Allied bombing in 1944, it was found under his paving the foundations of three churches, which they dated from the fourth century AD the twelfth century and was found a tombstone with inscription in Roman times.
