Canhões do Forte de São João de Bertioga

Antigos canhões portugueses de ferro apontam em direção ao canal de Bertioga da praça de armas do forte.

O Forte de São João de Bertioga é uma antiga fortificação portuguesa na entrada do canal de Bertioga erguido como um paliçada de madeira em 1560, durante o período colonial brasileiro como defesa contra ataques dos índios que habitavam a região, bem como de piratas. No final do século XVII um novo forte de pedra foi erguido sobre a paliçada e teve suas obras concluídas em 1710. Atualmente o forte é um dos pontos culturais e históricos mais importantes de Bertioga e funciona como um museu dedicado à memória histórica e cultural da cidade.

Samba is built into the soul of brazil and carnival is when it bursts out into twenty-four hour undying explosions of sound on every street.This picture of mask diving at the Taipus reefs makes me shed hot and salty tears all over my calendar, which is set on "January" right now.Text by Steve Smith.
