Far de Favaritx Menorca
Spain

Lighthouse Favaritx:

It is currently the central area of the largest natural park that exists in Menorca, since a few years culminated the process of extending into the area of Puerto de Addaia what Favaritx left the Cape and its access road in the park and the second gateway to the most visited park on the island of Minorca.

The road that leads to the lighthouse located on Cape or Cape Favaritx Picafort CF1 is the county road. Cape is a rocky point very sharp, black slate rock that forms on both sides of the lighthouse trails bays.

The coast is characterized by different landscape, with low cliffs and very blackened slate when it is wet or damp, gray silver, when dry and up one of the most ancient geological areas of the Balearic Islands and Menorca is split as into two eras, here you can see areas of both plates.

On the left of the lighthouse stands on the rock two distinct types of materials as well as some long streaks of bright ocher oxide, which gives it a special beauty to the landscape and greater interest to amateur geologists.

Inland areas with abundant springs, small suegentes that cross the surface of the tiles with streams of water until they find a lump or earthy liblillos grienta between stone and lost but leaving life and greenery, a small pond as a small oasis, is involved along the route.

The area of Cape Favaritx is battered by the winds, especially the north, and waves crash over the sea barrier formed by a pebble beach by the lighthouse, El Faro itself is the least interesting, coastal rocks black and pristine beaches if they are of interest, is part of the park's lagoon Grao flooding an esplanade that dries to form a white surface known as "salt Favaritx"

As we mentioned this area has several beaches, great value and belong to the park remain undeveloped, are right on a wide bay on the right of the lighthouse.

Naturally, all beaches in the park, is Grao are Virgin, here we highlight those that are more interesting and more accessible, especially from the area near Faro Favaritx

Because this area is a natural park protected by law, statute and provides direction as well as guards, must be taken into account, which is in an ISNA, Area of Special Interest, and like all Aney in Menorca must respected throughout the environment actively, you can not make fire, leaving scraps Presili Cala is the first beach on the pristine beaches of this Natural Park Es Grau and protected area within the municipality of Mao and trash containers, no stick to paths or trails, hikers, cyclists and horse riders if you remember that, all Minorca is declared "Biosphere Reserve" by UNESCO and tento there is a special effort to protect their small territory, and not follow the standards within the national park could lead to sanctions I fines.

Presili Cala beach is dark sand and very limited running much of the cliff which is followed by a stretch where the sand dunes descend on a small valley that gives more space.

This protected dune area, is the boundary between the, ar the beach and lagoon in the heart of Cala Morella Natural Park Es Grau Favaritx sercanos Lighthouse

The Arenal beach Capifort or Morella, is a few hundred meters of Presili, crossing a rock, "Punta de Presili" with the back filled with sand, and as can be seen descending the wide beach of Arenal Morella is by far the best beach of the quartet, good-sized dunes are internal, inland. Leaving aside the dunes, is a wetland of considerable dimensions.

Playa d'en Tortuga is a short distance from a small hill, the beach is gravel and smaller, very dark and wild but quiet flirt, often less crowded to be after a large open beach.

Nou Cala Morella, the most remote and least graceful of four and almost never retain the sand, yes, the forest behind it is the densest and an exception in the whole area: there is a rustic cottage, fairy-like, right edge of the forest.

Just before arriving at the lighthouse, the left side is a small pebble beach and despite being in a wide bay is well-facing north which guarantees wave is not very interesting, but that is beside the road, ideal for those who do not like to walk or take a boat into the water to travel along

The beaches are after Mossèn Cape Vives are discussed in "Area of Es Grau"
