View from just inside Lava Trench Cave, a rarely visited lava tube in the Medicine Lake Volcano area of Northern California.  The cave has a large breakdown opening w/ this lower-elevated passage going in for only about 600' in before ending at an abrupt lava seal.  The cave is well preserved & contains this unique trench that is narrow w/ a depth of about 8-10 feet.  This time of year there are large ice formations draped along the walls of the trench.
