We are now climbing one of the tallest sand dunes around the Huacachina Oasis near Ica, Peru, in the heart of the coastal desert. This dune is a fabulous viewpoint to the oasis and the surrounding desert landscape. At this moment - late afternoon, almost sunset time - it was particularly windy, with the sand flying away.
