A 400' aerial view overlooking Wetwang, England.  In modern sense the name of the town is comical, referring to the male organ, however its real origin is either traced 1. To the Old Norse "vaett-vangr" or "field for the trail of a legal action" or 2. That this area was known as the "wet field" compared to the nearby dry field at Driffield.  The earliest mention of Wetwang is from the Domesday Book of the year 1086 where it is mentioned as Wetuuangha.  The Wetwang Slack, an Iron Age chariot burial site is located nearby.  As of 2011, the population was 761.
