I am a professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, primarily studying the impacts of climate change in arctic Alaska. My main focus is glaciers, but also the influence that changing glaciers have on downstream ecosystems. My panoramic photography is largely in support of these efforts. I am trying to capture the current state of various landscape features in the arctic through spherical and gigapixels panoramas, so that we can assess how these features are changing in time. These images are also a nice way to share the beauty of these remote places with those who may never have the opportunity to visit them in person.
Hi, my name is Matthew Wellard. I've been into photography for 20+ years now as a hobby. Really got back into with my purchase of a Nikon D70, the digital age making it so much easier...
Saw an Ipix panorama in New York as my first 360 VR. Since then I've purchased a Nikkor 10,5mm Fisheye and a Manfrotto 303SPH panorama head to create my own panoramas.
I've taken many sequences that I have yet to stich so more will be coming soon...
Matt

I have been creating 360-degree panoramas since 2004.
