Alberto Frias: Architect, Artist and Designer of the “Transport” Perceptual Pod. The original pod bed. Mr. Frias has collaborated with and worked for prestigious international architecture firms, Hollywood film, television studios, hospitals wellness centers and fortune 500 companies. Recent clients and collaborations include Sony Pictures (Men In Black III), NBC, Philips and American Institute of Architects Gold Metal recipient Antoine Predock. Mr. Frias has a Masters of Architecture degree and has served as an adjunct professor and lecturer. Recent publications include: “Best of Design” DomusChina, The New York Times, London Financial Times, LA Times, Architectural Record, Dwell, Metropolis, Interior Design, Playboy and Maxim.
Alberto was born in Monterrey, Mexico. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Houston and was awarded the Graduation Honor Award for Design for his work on designing a place of meditation. Further inspired by the sublime experience of spiritual places, he created his master's thesis project "Transport" Perceptual Pod from his explorations on light, sound and space and received a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of New Mexico.
