As a kid I obsessively explored immersive worlds around the planet through spherical panoramas capturing entire scenes in a single image. Following progress in the field, from the old QTVR panoramas in the late 90s, to the more flexible Flash format in the 2000s, to when it went mainstream through smartphone apps and 360 cameras, in 2010 I made my first spherical panorama using my Canon EOS 550D DSLR, the 18-55mm kit lens, a tripod, a Nodal Ninja MKII panohead, HDR bracketting, and PTGui software for tone-mapping and stitching.
