The Alberfeldkogel is a 1707 m high mountain in the Höllengebirge mountain range in the Salzkammergut region of Upper Austria. It is a popular destination for hikers, as it can be easily reached in less than an hour from the mountain station of the Feuerkogel cable car. Its summit cross is the so-called “European Cross”: each of its segments bears a stone from a different nation of the European Union.
