The Lindau Municipal Theater, built in 1951, is the largest theater on Lake Constance and is also available for special events, conferences, and corporate functions, as well as international-class performances. It also houses a unique highlight: the Lindau Marionette Opera. It is the only puppet theater in Germany that exclusively presents musical theater and is therefore almost exclusively aimed at adult audiences. It is housed in a former 13th-century monastic church: the listed building was rebuilt after World War II and offers seating for around 700 people.

It officially opened on May 19, 1951, with Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro," a special performance by the Bavarian State Opera.

O Teatro Municipal de Lindau, construído em 1951 é o maior teatro do Lago de Constança, está também disponível para eventos especiais, conferências e eventos corporativos, bem como para apresentações de nível internacional. Alberga também um destaque único: a Ópera de Marionetas de Lindau. É o único teatro de marionetas na Alemanha que apresenta exclusivamente teatro musical e, por isso, é quase exclusivamente dirigido ao público adulto. Encontra-se implantado numa antiga igreja monástica do século XIII: o edifício classificado foi reconstruído após a Segunda Guerra Mundial e oferece lugares para cerca de 700 pessoas.

Foi oficialmente inaugurado a 19 de maio de 1951, com "As Bodas de Fígaro", de Mozart, uma apresentação especial da Ópera Estatal da Baviera.
