Australia's Tessellated Pavement is a geologic feature that is located just north of Eaglehawk Neck on the east shore of Tasmania. It looks as if the rock on the beach has been cut in fairly regular rectangles. The effect is actually a natural erosion formed in flat-lying sedimentary rock.The formation lies on Pirates Bay which opens to the Tasman Sea. Beyond the horizon lies New Zealand.
