Willow Creek sits in Hope Valley in the Heart of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Hope Valley is about 15 miles south of South Lake Tahoe. Willow Creek gets its water from the snow melt from Job and Friel Peaks. This creek becomes a significant portion of the water in the west fork of the Carson River which flows east and north into Nevada. Willow Creek meets the Carson River about 500 meters from this picture location.
