Guilin, a very beautiful city, is located in the northeast of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Its breathtaking sceneries--- green hills, crystal clear waters, wonderful caves and gorgeous karst peaks make the city the pearl of tourist destinations in China. There is an old saying that can tell us how appealing this city is--- “Guilin’s hills and rivers are the best under the heavens.” In 1950s, Liu Sanjie, a very popular music movie in China, was filmed on location in Guilin. In addition, some of the backgrounds of scenes in Avatar were shot in Guilin as well.
