18世紀中期開墾者的住家和水圳護坡，以及清代臺北城建城時的城牆，乃至日治時期推動「現代化」時的指標性建築如臺北帝國大學（今日臺灣大學）校門和臺灣總督府臺北醫院（今臺大醫院）圍牆，和20世紀中期大量煉鋼和燒製玻璃、陶瓷時所用的爐材，都使用了在唭哩岸本地打石加工、耐火的唭哩岸石。
