The baboons in Serengeti Park are known for their interaction with visitors and are often considered the highlight of the self-drive safari tour.
The Baboon Experience
In Serengeti Park, the baboons live in their own spacious enclosure, which you drive through in your car. The animals are extremely curious and do not want to climb onto the vehicles. This behavior makes the encounter particularly exciting, as the baboons jump on car hoods, roofs and can even try to pull on windshield wipers or antennas.
Behavior and peculiarities
Baboons are very social animals that live in large groups. In the park you can observe their social behavior: how they eat each other, play with each other or how the mothers carry their young.
Attention: The baboons are clever and curious. You may consider small objects that are visible as toys. It is strongly recommended that doors and windows be closed and items such as antennas, rearview mirrors or accessories safely stored to avoid damage.
The Baboon Express option
For visitors who don't want to expose their car to the curious baboons, the park offers an alternative: the Baboon Express. This is a special bus that also drives through the enclosure. This means you can safely observe the baboons up close without having to worry about your vehicle.
