Moto Expo

MotoExpo is a Motorcycle Show, featuring a huge indoor Custom Bike Show and competition, including a Vintage Motorcycle display , plus a host of motorcycle related exhibitors.

Del Mar California and Motorcycles have a long and rich history.

As far back as the 1940s motorcyclists staged "Flat track" races on the dirt horse racing track. Just for the fun of it. Then the fun got serious.

Records were set and broken. New history was made as competition grew stronger. Del Mar motorcycle racing fans enjoyed many years of action on the oval. Then silence fell.

After several years of quiet, in 1990 the bikes returned to compete one again in "The Del Mar Mile". This time, through the vision of the event sponsor SDAMCA and Show Director Bob Bishop, the races were surrounded by continuous entertainment.

Headlined with the emergence and assembly of previous years race winners."The Legends", as they were described, were reunited as a group to thrill the fans.

Action was non stop. From Custom Pro Built Big Twins to a Vintage Motorcycle Concourses de Elegance to the thunder of a Jet powered Motorcycle. Vendors sold everything that makes a motorcycle. Rock'n Roll filled the air. This was the scene for seven years until 1997 when the racing once again came to a close at Del Mar.
