南湖公园的树木很多，在诸多的树木中，最美的要数白桦了。白桦树是一种坚强、优美、自信、骄傲的落叶乔木。树干耸立，上有线形横生的孔，远看好像生着无数眼睛，向四周瞭望；枝叶疏散，枝条柔软，迎风摇曳。白桦树树皮洁白，光滑细腻，有层白霜，像纸一样可以分层剥离。成材后的白桦树高达二三十米，直径六七十厘米，它喜光抗寒，端直挺拔，正如北方人纯正质朴的品格和不惧艰险、迎风而上的气概。
皑皑白雪的严冬，今天走进她，仿佛比往日更多了几分妩媚，远望那白桦林一身素白，在白雪幕布的映衬下，更加圣洁，高昂着头，亭亭玉立，向远方眺望。
