Stairway of the senses. In the FONTE DAS CINCO CHAGAS, the following inscription reads "PURPUREOS / FONTS ODIUM RESERAVIT / ADOXUM / NUNC IN CHRISTALLOS HIC TIBI / VERTIT AMOR"; it is flanked by the sculpture of Jeremiah, with the inscription "JEREMIAS / VIRGAM VIGILANTEM EGO VIDEO / JER. 1" and that of Moses, with "MOYSES. / WHO, CUM PERCUSSI, ASPICERENT, SABANTUR / NUM. 21.9".
