旗山地景主題步道是利用原旗山糖廠輕便鐵道的舊橋墩及重新打樁的橋墩興建而成。下層為自行車道，上層鋪設木板地面作為行人步道。漫步在全長536公尺的步道，可欣賞旗山溪景、旗尾山勢、蕉園，及旗山街景。

2009年莫拉克襲颱後，發現地景橋的橋墩過密，導致漂流木堆積阻礙水流，基於安全考量，並保留部分日據時代橋墩，市府決定縮減橋墩，預訂明年完工。
