恐龙（學名：Dinosauria）是中生代多樣化優勢陸棲脊椎動物，曾支配全球陸地生态系统超過1亿6千万年之久。恐龙最早出现在2亿3千万年前的三疊紀，滅亡于约6千5百万年前的白垩纪晚期所发生的白垩纪末滅絕事件。在1861年發現的始祖鳥化石，與美頜龍化石極度相似，差別在於始祖鳥化石有著羽毛痕跡，這顯示恐龍與鳥類可能是近親。自從1970年代以來，許多研究指出现代鸟类極可能是兽脚亚目恐龙的直系後代[1]。大部分科學家視鳥類為惟一幸存发展至今的恐龙[2]，而少數科學家甚至主張牠們應該分類於同一綱之內[3]。鱷魚則是另一群恐龍的現代近親，但兩者關係較恐龍與鳥類遠。恐龍、鳥類、鱷魚都屬於爬行動物的主龍類演化支，該演化支首次出現於二疊紀晚期，並在三疊紀中期成為優勢陸棲動物群。在20世紀前半期，科學家與大眾媒體都視恐龍為行動緩慢、慵懶的冷血動物。但是1970年代開始的恐龍文藝復興，提出恐龍也許是群活躍的溫血動物，並可能有社會行為。近期發現的眾多恐龍與鳥類之間關係的證據，支持了恐龍溫血動物的假設。[來源請求]自从19世纪早期，第一批恐龙化石被科學方法鑑定後，重建的恐龙骨架已成為全球各地博物馆的主要展覽品。恐龙已是大眾文化的一部分，无论儿童或者成年人均对恐龙有很高的兴致。恐龙往往是热门书籍與电影的题材，如：《侏罗纪公园》，各类媒体也常報導恐龙的科学研究進展與新發現。[來源請求]所有的恐龍皆為陸地動物。許多史前爬行動物常被一般大眾非正式地認定是恐龙，例如：翼手龍、魚龍、蛇頸龍、滄龍、盤龍類（異齒龍與基龍）等，但从科学角度来看，这些都不是恐龙。[來源請求]

The planet Earth has proven to be too limiting for our awesome community of panorama photographers. We're getting an increasing number of submissions that depict locations either not on Earth (like Mars, the Moon, and Outer Space in general) or do not realistically represent a geographic location on Earth (either because they have too many special effects or are computer generated) and hence don't strictly qualify for our Panoramic World project.But many of these panoramas are extremely beautiful or popular of both.So, in order to accommodate our esteemed photographers and the huge audience that they attract to 360Cities with their panoramas, we've created a new section (we call it an "area") called "Out of this World" for panoramas like these.Don't let the fact that these panoramas are being placed at the Earth's South Pole fool you - we had to put them somewhere in order not to interfere with our Panoramic World.Welcome aboard on a journey "Out of this World".
