金山寺是九份地區歷史悠久的大佛寺之一，座落於九份頌德山的七番坑附近，搭乘客運者可在「七番坑」站牌處下車，走石階往下抵達。開車者，可從102縣道旁雕刻有「金山寺」巨石之叉路進入。寺院非常壯觀，牆壁純白、屋簷採用佛寺的傳統鮮黃色，看起來非常明亮。
