昇平戲院前的廣場稱為戲台口，從豎崎路上下往返的人潮與搬運的物資，輕便車站就位於戲台口轉彎處，垂直與平行的兩條主要動線在此交會，為昔日的交通樞紐、娛樂中心、飲食與各種攤販集中處，人來人往，是九份地區最熱鬧的地方。目前戲台口雖不再是主要交通樞紐，仍是九份地區最熱鬧的必參觀景點之一。
