The Roving Bridge over the Shropshire Union Canal in Chester, UK. A roving (or turnover) bridge is designed to allow the towing horse to cross the canal without unhitching the tow rope from the boat, for example as here, by using a spiral ramp. The bridge is part of the North Cheshire Way.
