Pioneer Basin is a hanging valley on the Mono Creek drainage west of Rock Creek with seven lakes. The shortest trail there is from the the east via the 12,000 foot Mono Pass. Round trip is 16 miles and with 2,1006 foot gain and 2,006 loss one way.
