Viewing Panoramas on Google Earth

To explore the 360Cities library of stunning 360º images on Google Earth desktop, download this KMZ file and open it in Google Earth for desktop. It will appear in the ‘My Places’ panel and will automatically connect to 360Cities servers to display a fresh map of all 360Cities panoramas. You can then view them in exactly the same way as from the former 360Cities photo layer. Only for use with Google Earth Pro.

You can also download specific KML files for each 360Cities contributor. From a contributor’s profile page scroll down and click on

Technology changes at Google have necessitated the removal of the 360Cities layer from the list of default layers in Google Earth. This will happen on November 5, 2019. However, working with the Google Earth team, we are producing our own KMZ file that allows you to continue exploring and enjoying our high-quality panoramas in Google Earth desktop.

Instructions on how to find this page will be available in Google Earth until January of 2020 in order to give our users time to transition.

Follow these steps to view 360Cities panoramas on Google Earth for desktop:
  • Download Google Earth for desktop
  • Install it on your computer and launch
  • Open the 360Cities KMZ file on Google Earth (desktop > File > Open > select the KMZ file > Open or Double click on the downloaded KMZ file)
  • Right click on 360cities_panos under ‘Places’ (left of the map) and click ‘Save to My Places’.

360Cities will update the image set on a regular basis. You only need to download the KMZ file once and they will display updated 360º images on Google Earth.

Quality is very important to us, which is why we manually review all 360º content published on 360Cities. Only those panoramas that meet the requirements for both 360Cities and Google Earth will be viewable in Google Earth using the new 360Cities KMZ file.
