Cathedral Basilica of Peter and Paul
Philadelphia

Philadelphia's cathedral, built between 1846 and 1864, is modeled on the Roman church San Carlo al Corso.  But it was built with no windows below roof level, as a precaution against the vandalism that was regulary wreaked on Catholic churches in the City of Brotherly Love during the early 19th century.
