China Mozo, 1995-2020

"On the night of October 24, 2020 our beloved sister China along with three other friends were in a car accident. The driver of the other vehicle was driving the wrong way and was intoxicated at the time. Witnesses and deputies say he was also going at a high speed. Unfortunately, our sister China passed away at the scene. She always had the mentality of what’s meant to be will be. We now know she is in a better place and is happier than ever."

"A Fort Myers man faces two counts of DUI manslaughter after he drove the wrong way on a Collier County road and collided with a van, killing two women. Lukasz Ryszka, 43, also faces one count each of DUI serious injury and DUI property damage. He is currently in the Collier County Jail; a mug shot has not been made available. The two Naples women died after the Ryszka’s truck collided with their van late Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers say Ryszka was driving south in the northbound lanes of Livingston Road, near Golden Gate Parkway, when he collided with the van, which was carrying four people. The van’s 25-year-old driver and a 26-year-old passenger were killed. Two other women in the van, ages 24 and 25, suffered serious injuries, as did Ryszka. All three were taken to the hospital, where Ryszka was later arrested. Flowers and candles now line Livingston Road. A memorial to honor Ana Marie Gutierrez, 26 and China Mozo, 25. “We are responding to a patient 25-year-old female who was hit in a head-on collision currently unresponsive this evening,” said the radio calls. These calls are from Saturday night and only scratch the surface. Guitierrez and Mozo are dead, because of a wrong-way driver. “We see the domino effect that happens lives are ruined. Family members are lost and they can’t get those family members back,” said Lieutenant Greg Bueno with Florida Highway Patrol. His arrest report states his blood alcohol content was .272, which is over three times the legal limit. The FHP says all four women were wearing seatbelts when the crash happened, shortly before 11:30 p.m on Saturday. Bueno says this was absolutely preventable. “This entire tragedy was preventable. It requires all of us when driving a motor vehicle to be responsible, to be sober and to be 100 percent focused on the task at hand which is driving,” said Lt. Bueno."

More About USA

The United States is one of the most diverse countries on earth, jam packed full of amazing sights from St. Patrick's cathedral in New York to Mount Hollywood California. The Northeast region is where it all started. Thirteen British colonies fought the American Revolution from here and won their independence in the first successful colonial rebellion in history. Take a look at these rolling hills carpeted with foliage along the Hudson river here, north of New York City. The American south is known for its polite people and slow pace of life. Probably they move slowly because it's so hot. Southerners tend not to trust people from "up north" because they talk too fast. Here's a cemetery in Georgia where you can find graves of soldiers from the Civil War.The West Coast is sort of like another country that exists to make the east coast jealous. California is full of nothing but grizzly old miners digging for gold, a few gangster rappers, and then actors. That is to say, the West Coast functions as the imagination of the US, like a weird little brother who teases everybody then gets famous for making freaky art.The central part of the country is flat farmland all the way over to the Rocky Mountains. Up in the northwest corner you can find creative people in places like Portland and Seattle, along with awesome snowboarding and good beer. Text by Steve Smith.
