Schuylkill Banks is the Center City Philadelphia segment of the 5-county Schuylkill River Trail. Its newest part is this handsome cable stayed bridge, that carries it past an otherwise impassable zone of industrial blight known as the Devil's Pocket, down to what is currently its final segment in Forgotten Bottom. Someday soon, I hope, a rebuilt railroad bridge will connect it to the Bartram's Mile trail on the other side of the river, opening a much needed pedestrian way to America's oldest botanical garden.
