武昌宮歷經八年工程浩大的興建，卻於完工當年遭遇921大地震而整座倒塌。現今倒塌的寺廟還保存未拆除，而未拆除的武昌宮現今也成了集集特別的景點之一。廟方表示日後將繼續保存這已倒塌的舊廟，作為九二一大地震之紀念，將再蓋間新的武昌宮，目前廟方也正在積極的籌措重建經費，但還尚未足夠，也請來到這參拜的信徒及遊客們能依自己的能力添些香油給廟方以供日後的重建工作，有錢出錢，有力出力，相信不久後就能再看到-新的”武昌宮”囉!
