Yueguang Mountain Tunnel
Taiwan

Yueguang Mountain, meaning the mountain with moon light in Chinese, is the highest tip among the Meinong Mountains, with a height of 649 meters above sea level. It was so named because the shape of the curve at the top of the mountain was like a new moon. The Yueguang Tunnel, located at the west side of the Shuangfeng Mountain, was launched in February 2002, after four years of construction. Due to the topography in that area, the tunnel has undulating ground, which is uncommon in Taiwan. The tunnel has made it much easier for people traveling from Meinong to Jiasian, Liouguei, and Nanheng.
