Celebrants of the centennial of the Ben Franklin Bridge were invited to walk from Philadelphia to Camden, or vice-versa, in the motorway, something our ancestors did when it opened in 1926 as the Delaware River Bridge.  This is the long ramp that connects 5th Street to the bridge proper, which begins at the stone towers.
