Diarna, “Our Homes” in Judeo-Arabic, is the flagship initiative of Digital Heritage Mapping, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit specializing in digitally preserving historic and cultural sites worldwide. The project pioneers the use of digital mapping technologies to explore the unfolding of Jewish history in the Middle East and North Africa through the prism of physical location by digitizing individual sites (schools, cemeteries, synagogues, shrines) and memories.
Anyone with an Internet connection can use Diarna to travel across the region as if on eagles' wings, unaffected by political and inter-religious strife below. Previously unknown or difficult to visit sites are now "visitble" via Diarna's weaving and synthesizing of satellite imagery, immersive panoramas, three-dimensional architectural models, archival and contemporary photography, scholarship, and oral history recordings.
Dirven by a team with diverse background and outlooks--including young Muslims eager to discover their shared history--Diarna has been: featured as a resource for scholars in the "Encyclopedia of Jews in the Islamic World" (Brill Publications, 2010); recognized as one of the 50 most innovative Jewish projects in North America by the Slingshot Fund (2009-2010); the subject of a panel at the Association of Jewish Studies' 42nd Conference; profiled in Haaretz (http://goo.gl/2N9VZ); and is partnered with Wellesley College, the Alliance Israélite Universelle, Beit Hatfutsot: The Museum of the Jewish People, and the Yad Ben-Zvi Institute.
The immersive panos published here are an advance preview of The Diarna Project's D'fina exhibit (http://www.JewishMorocco.org), dedicated to uncovering the "buried" or "covered" Jewish treasures of Morocco.
Spanning the entire country, from metropolitan centers to remote villages, D’fina proffers a virtual passport to visitors wishing to explore mountain-top shrines of Jewish “saints” that continue to be voluntarily protected by Muslim caretakers, scorpion-guarded genizot (burial grounds for holy texts and objects), anthropomorphic tombstones in seaside cemeteries, synagogues on the edge of the Sahara Desert, and ancient urban quarters with hidden reminders of their one-time residents. This exhibit marks the first public showing of documentation on the majority of these sites, including several Vichy regime desert labor and “discipline” camps where hundreds of Jews and non-Jewish political prisoners toiled, suffered torture, and died during the Holocaust.

History The dream of establishing a "University of the Jewish People" in the Land of Israel formed an integral part of the early Zionist vision. With the acquisition of the Gray Hill estate atop Mount Scopus, and the laying of the cornerstone for the university-to-be in 1918, the realization of the dream was on its way.
Seven years later, on April 1, 1925, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem was opened at a festive ceremony attended, among others, by leaders of world Jewry including the University's founding father, Dr. Chaim Weizmann, distinguished academics and communal leaders of the Yishuv, and British dignitaries including Lord Balfour, Viscount Allenby and Sir Herbert Samuel. Also in attendance were Chief Rabbi Abraham Isaac Hacohen Kook, the poet Haim Nahman Bialik and many others.
The First Board of Governors of the University, chaired by Dr. Weizmann, included such luminaries as Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud, Martin Buber, Haim Nahman Bialik, Asher Ginsberg (Ahad Ha'am), Dr. Judah Leib Magnes, James Rothschild, Sir Alfred Mond, Nahum Sokolov, Harry Sacher and Felix M. Warburg.
The University's first three research institutes - in microbiology, chemistry and Jewish studies - had 33 faculty members and 141 students. In 1931, the University awarded its first degrees, the Master of Arts, to 13 graduates.
By 1947, the University had grown to a large, well-established research and teaching institution, encompassing humanities, science, medicine, education and agriculture (the last at a campus in Rehovot); the Jewish National and University Library; a University press; and an adult education center. Student enrollment exceeded 1,000 and there were some 200 faculty members.
The War of Independence in 1948 left the University campus cut off from Israeli west Jerusalem, and alternative facilities were found throughout the city. In 1953, construction began on a new main campus at Givat Ram in the heart of Jerusalem. A few years later work began on a health sciences campus in Ein Kerem in southwest Jerusalem, in partnership with the Hadassah Medical Organization. By the beginning of 1967, the number of faculties and schools had been greatly expanded, and enrollment exceeded 12,500.
With the reunification of Jerusalem in the Six-Day War of June 1967, work began on restoring and expanding the Mount Scopus campus. In 1981, the historical Mount Scopus campus again became the main home of the University. The University has since continued to grow, with the addition of new buildings, establishment of new programs, and recruitment of outstanding scholars, researchers and students, in fulfillment of its commitment to excellence.
Cilicia and Mersin
Cilicia Region roughly extends from the Manavgat River, through the southern foothills of the Taurus Mountains, to the Amanus Mountains. According to the geological structure, Cilicia is divided into two as the Rugged Cilicia (Cilicia Trachaea) and the Flat Cilicia (Cilicia Pedias ). The border between the Rugged Cilicia and the Flat Cilicia was the Lamos at times and the Soli at others.
As it is known to those who toured around the area, there exist three gates that enable access to this land through a rugged course. The first of these is the Sertavul Pass, which is located to the north of Mut District. The second one is the Cilician Gate, which is known as the Gülek Pass and hosts a rock bearing the inscription “the Cilician Border”, and the last one is the Belen (Syria) Gate on the route to Hatay Province.
Surrounded by Gazipaşa District of Antalya Province to the west, the provinces of Konya, Karaman and Niğde to the north and the Mediterranean Sea to the east, Mersin was annexed to the land of Ottomans in 1516 during the reign of (Yavuz) Selim I. It was then ruled by Kavalalı Mehmet Ali Pasha for some time, but later Ottomans gained control of the area once again.
Mersin Province was founded in 1924. Districts of Silifke, Anamur, Gülnar and Mut were annexed to Mersin Province, and the Province was renamed as ‘İçel’. It is thought that the long-used “İçel” name derived from the name given to the site by Turkish people who settled in the areas located on either side of Göksu River during the 12th century, or has actually transformed from “Uç-il/ Uç-el” denomination used by Anatolian Seljuk Sultanate for this “Uç ülke, uç diyar (literally: the frontier land)” located beyond the Taurus Mountains. Erdemli district was founded in 1954; then followed Aydıncık District (1987), Bozyazı and Çamlıyayla Districts (1989). In 2001, the name ‘İçel’ was, once again, replaced by “Mersin” due to intensive pressure from the citizens. Having a Metropolitan City status, Mersin is divided into four central districts, namely Akdeniz, Toroslar, Mezitli and Yenişehir. Including Tarsus District, Mersin has 13 districts in total.
It was revealed in the excavations performed in Yumruktepe site that the history of Mersin dates back to 7000 BC. The settlement found on the northwestern part of the current City center flourished around 7000 BC, and continued to exist expanding even larger.
Zephyrion, which is perceived as the antique settlement of Mersin, is localized somewhere between the Governor’s Residence and the Orthodox Church. Archeological findings gathered especially during the salvage excavations performed in the New Cultural Center constructed here and in the Old Public House garden, and the Kuros statute, which was excavated from the same area and displayed in Mersin Museum, are attributed to the Antique City of Zephyrion. The city, which was referred to as a ‘Polis’ during the Hellenistic Period and the Persian Period (and in later periods, as Hadrianapolis), was captured by Shapur I in 260 AD. While it was among the cities of Cilica I Region during the Byzantine Empire Period, it transformed into a prominent port city in the first quarter of the 19th century.
There are numerous opinions and myths about the roots of the name “Mersin”. The most widely-known one derives from the ‘Myrtus-Murt-Myrtle’ tree, the yield of the Mediterranean Climate, which is called “hambales” by Arabs. According to another opinion, the name Mersin is inherited from the Mersin Tribe, which was one of the Turkmen tribes in history. In his Seyahatname (literally: ‘Book of Travel’), Evliya Celebi notes that he stayed in a village called “Mersinoğlu”, which is located on the northwestern part of the present-day Mersin.
The Myth is as follows:
The name Mersin came from the princess Myrna, daughter of the Cypriot King. Gods pitying Myrna, who had been cursed by the goddess Aphrodite, brought her ashore to Mersin. The place was named as Mersin because of that incident.

A quick guide to the Wirral by Wirral360.com photographer.....Dave Hughes
The Wirral is a peninsula in North West of England bounded by the River Dee to the west and the River Mersey to the east. It is administered by Wirral Borough Council. If you have ever heard the famous song by Gerry Marsden "Ferry cross the Mersey" then i guess you could say we are cross the Mersey.
At the end of the twelfth century, Birchen Head Priory stood on a lonely headland of birch trees, facing open countryside and surrounded by the Mersey. It was from here, Merseyside's oldest building, that Benedictine monks operated the first Mersey ferry in 1330, having been granted a passage to Liverpool by a charter from Edward III.
The original ferry service, now famous throughout the world, put Wirral on the map as part of the King's highway, yet for centuries the peninsula remained a cluster of small holdings and hamlets. It wasn't until the 1820s that steam-powered boats improved communication and opened up Wirral's Mersey coast for industrialisation.
www.Wirral360.com aims to create many 360º virtual tours of the Wirral to show you the viewer how we live here on the Wirral.
One of my hobbies is aerial photography. I love the adrenaline of traveling, the rush of flying with my compact drone, and taking 360-degree photos from the air. Having the 'eagle eye' in my backpack always challenged me to look into the world from a different perspective.
There is always a place for improvement regarding the HDR, the stitching, the follow-up image processing, and the sharing with the world. Always learning, and always improving ...

So stop by often and join me in the land of the mighty Buckeye.
Photography for me is not only a hobby, it's the way to capture the moments of life, as well as the way to discover nature of things covered by the dust of times and hidden in the stereotypical worldview. I like to capture the life in common. I try to see details in its mainstream.
In 2013 I started to cultivate the passion for photography, especially landscapes, then I'm experiencing the immersive photography, the only kind of photograph able to convey the feeling of actually being present at the place where the photo was taken, which requires knowledge of advanced techniques. I hope you will find interesting my works.
The Municipality of Chersonissos comprises of the coastal area and the inland mountainous province. The main income source for people in the coastal area is the tourism industry. Tourism infrastructure includes high-quality hotels and accommodation businesses; blue flag awarded beaches and water parks, golf course, emergency medical centres and well-equipped congress facilities.
The Municipality of Chersonissos was formed at the 2011 local government reform by the merger of the following 4 former municipalities, that became municipal units: Episkopi, Gouves, Chersonissos and Malia
Tourist attractions include intact landscape, picturesque villages, agricultural museums, animal farms, cultural tours, ancestral pathways and a number of historical monuments and sites. Main archaeological sites include the Minoan Palaces of Malia and Amnissos (the summer Palace of King Minos) the Archaeological sites of Niros, Karfi (Minoan refuge) as well as ambiguous antiquities from the Classical, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine era. Visitors are able to enjoy extreme leisure activities such as paragliding, water sports, bungee jumping, golf and mountain bike.
I love to travel and love to photograph. It's been a long way from 35mm slides to spherical panoramas! I find that the spherical panos really alter photography. For the first time the viewer is no longer bounded by the borders of the frame. Of course the photographer still controls many aspects of the view, but there is a very real sense of "like beeing there" that doesn't happen even with large cylindrical panoramas. For exploring unknown places to go visit or getting excited about new sites it's a new world!
I take most of the panos using a 10.5mm fisheye lens on a Nikon D200 camera. Many times I hand-hold the 8-9 shots using the "string method" to avoid large parallax errors. Sometimes I use a tripod with a nodal nija panoramic head, but my enthusiasm to carry a tripod around is rather limited. At the end of the day the photography needs to be secondary to the enjoyment of the place!
I try to write descriptions for all my published panoramas to describe the place and also why I bothered going there and taking the shot. I appreciate it if you leave me a comment (360cities doesn't make that easy, you have to click on the "technical discussion" button below the pano in the left column). To contact me directly email me at tve at voneicken dot com. Thank you!

Matthias Taugwalder: photographer, computer expert and mountaineer
Matthias Taugwalder grew up in Zermatt (Switzerland). After spending his childhood in the mountains, he studied Business Informatics at the University of Zürich. He is a direct descendant of the mountaineers Peter Taugwalder and Son, who experienced the drama of the first ascent of the Matterhorn with Edward Whymper on 14th July 1865. The family tradition is obligatory, it is a matter of honour for him to take his panoramic shots by climbing the ascents and doing without helicopter services.
Taugwalder is a passionate panoramic photographer. The focus of his photographic creativity is the Alps and the surrounding area. By capturing the structures, forms and aura of the mountain landscape as realistically as possible, he meets documentary standards. In addition, as a computer expert, he makes full use of the opportunities offered by electronics.
Alongside his freelance activities, Matthias Taugwalder runs his own company, Concept360. As the company’s owner, he offers a whole range of services in the field of photography and information services. Clients include companies, advertising agencies, museums and publishing houses.
Two Backgrounds Photography
Merging two backgrounds to create an identity. This is the concept used by the photographer Ricardo Wolf, who, from his own angle manages to merge the sky with the land in his images, consequently creating intensity in unique sceneries. Ricardo has been working in the Photography market since 2008; he has worked for top enterprises producing image databases and architectural photography, as well as essays and events.
Ricardo uses his wide angle lens to capture images from the bottom up, which makes them grandiose and complete, resulting in a space-like panorama. This technique is his trade-mark; the images put together two different backgrounds: “By photographing this way we link the earth to the sky as if they were opposites that work together and complete each other, the beginning and the end”. Ricardo explains.
The photographer also highlights the importance of telling a story through his images. From the viewpoint of his own technique, which he developed throughout his career, Ricardo Wolf manages to spot in the everyday life those elements and expressions his client is expecting and hoping for and he is able to transfer it to the end consumer.
With the style of some of his photographs being out of the ordinary, Ricardo was awarded a prize by the Fotografe Melhor magazine, an important publication in its field. The image of a cowboy playing the guitar in Times Square caught attention because of his outfit: it was midnight and the temperature was below zero, the cowboy was wearing only a pair of boots, a hat and a pair of white briefs. The composition which illustrated one of the magazines’ pages conveying nightlife in New York City.
The photographer’s work is acclaimed by top companies which compose his portfolio such as: Petrobras, Vale, L’Oreal, Ernst & Young, Fetranspor, Johnson & Jonhson, Ford Foundation, New Holland and Sotreq. Ricardo has also become an expert in capturing shots from major events and covered the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2013 Fifa Confederations Cup, 2013 Fifa Cup Tour, the 2012 Parintins Festival, 2011 Rock in Rio, all of which were for Coca-Cola.
Ricardo is also a specialist in indoor and facade photography for architectural projects. For him, it is a work of passion as lighting is the major challenge and the environment details must be thoroughly explored so as to obtain the most impacting visual results. “Architecture is very interesting as it demands that you wait for the specific moment to shoot the ideal photograph. This could sometimes take several days” Ricardo told us.
i basically commute between Valdoviño, Spain, where I live during the summer months, and Morocco during the winter, following the waves and the sun. In Spain i run THE surf-camp: Camino Surf. My mailing address is Tampa Florida. But Tampa Bay is my home. Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater. Iv'e been here for more than thirty years. The Tampa Bay area is home to the best steakhouse on the planet - Bern's Steakhouse , in Tampa- the best beaches on the planet - Sunset Beach, Pass-a-Grille, Honeymoon Island, in Pinellas County and Winter, the dolphin, at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. I got my formal education here at the University of South Florida and I got a whole lot of informal education here as well. At places like the Porpoise Pub in Seminole, Gasoline Alley in Clearwater and the Sunset Club in Tampa. Life is Good.
For more then 35 years now, I'm active in the photographic scene as a.... photographer.
In those years many advertising agencies and private clients were served with the most challenging and tempting photography. Despite the fact that I never like to do a job twice, I did Paris Dakar four times and that resulted in a lifetime addiction to the Sahara. Many trips after that were undertaken to this part of the world but since the unrest in that area I now have another passion: Making panorama's with the help of a mobile 20 meter tall mast. I do serve the area around Hungary since we moved to this part of Europe.
The reason for this move? It's new developing part of the European Union and knows many undiscovered places and histories.
Next to the panorama's we'r also still active as social engaged photographer and that way we also do work for NGO's the world allover.
I got my first camera to my children's first communion. If I remember correctly, it was a simple roll film camera by Kodak with a 6 * 6 roll. Later, i am acquired the first SLR camera as a family camera. In the youth, we had been much experimenting with aperture, Exposure time and flash. Steps in the black and withe - laboratory were also present. But with the chemistry I did not have it in such a way.
Now, professional life began. In the past 25 years I've scurrying me in the IT - industry and left little time for photography.
When the first affordable and useful digital cameras came on the market, around the turn of the millennium, I jumped on. I was fascinated by the opportunity to get my photographed pictures going directly into the computer. My first digital was the compact camera Canon G2. Also this camera had in 2002 a panorama function, which has received the panoramic virus in me.

Geocaching photographer with a preference for le Objectif Grand Angle as the French would say. Lives in a great part of the world right on the edge of the Alps in Grenoble, and plans to get out and about into the mountains at every possible opportunity.
I am a photographer that looks forward to the adventure of finding the next shot.
It takes me to places I might not have gone if not for the love of photography.
I feel photography is a combination of art and science. Finding the right angle and calculating the shadows. And turning them into art !

Making 360° Panoramas is a hobby, it is a field of photography that I find quite interesting and diverse. From the taking of the images, through to processing and finally displaying the views online, I can get a little absorbed on the project at hand, it is also a good diversion from the day job ;)
I am a British amateur photographer who has been living in Abu Dhabi, in the UAE, for the last 7 years. I have a passionate interest in the culture and heritage of all countries that I have lived and worked in, the UAE, and Abu Dhabi in particular.
I recently took up VR 360 Panoramic Photography because it is a medium through which people can gain a true sense of the beauty that surrounds us and the potential impact of our actions on the environment in which we live, and the importance of sustaining it for our children's children.

Albert Brunsting was born in 1954 in Ruinerwold and has turned his hobby in short time into his job. After high school in Meppel, he studied photography and audiovisual-design at the Art Academy in Breda. After graduating in 1981, he settled as an independent photographer and producer in his home village.
Brunsting has worked for large clients such as the Emmen Zoo and many other big companies. Besides photo-productions Albert Brunsting also produced a lot of video- and audiovisual production. Best known are the several productions in the Biochron of the Emmen Zoo on 3 screens with 9 slide projectors. For several clients many foreign trips were made.
Currently working for a very wide range of clients, for example in the agricultural-, care-, maritime- and service industry. More info about his work on: www.brunsting.nl and on Facebook.
In addition to photography, the production of video presentations are still an important part of his work, the many possibilities the new media offer, have broadened the scope of Albert Brunsting. In addition to linear video productions such as corporate presentations, clips and movies for internet, there are also opportunities for inter-active productions. But also the production of documentaries belong to his work, amongst others for the artists Thom Puckey and Kees Thijn.
In the remaining time there is sometimes sparse time for free work, mostly this concerns travel photography, the reason he visited several continents and many countries. In november 2008 he visited New Zealand for the first time. He was struck by the Green, the space and the peace. In his own words: ' it's like if you get in a time machine in New Zealand, back to the sixties: no stress, no overpopulation. Later there were several trips to New Zealand.
For those who love the technical specifications: Albert Brunsting photographs with the Canon Mark 1DX, the Canon Mark III DS, the Lumix GH5 and the Hasselblad H2D. Approaches photography because of his partner, who is interested in visual
and plastic arts. It was a game, but very pleasant and interesting. He
becomes passionate about the subject, falls in love with the idea of being
able to express something, to express himself, to have the opportunity to
leave a message.
The key moment was the encounter with one of the Norwegian masters of
photography: Morten Krogvold and his life partner Tarand. The meeting took
place in the restaurant where he worked. For two weeks Morten played the
role of “Pablo Neruda” in the film with Massimo Troisi: “Il Postino”.
In these two weeks Morten took Vito by the hand and charmed him with his
lessons on color and form, talking about Kandinsky, light and composition. At
that moment Vito made the choice to leave the restaurant in order to take
seminars, workshops, and dedicate himself to “writing with light”.
He created Arkimedia Lab along with Antonio Casola (Web Designer), an
agency that deals with visual communication.
In January ‘09, he was published in the Italian “National Geographic”, then
in “El Pais” going on to win the competition run by Nikon in 2010. He
participated actively in the Italian Photoshop group, and has participated in
world guru Dan Margulis’ advanced color correction classes.
After studying photography in France, My 1st job was in the photo journalism (2 years in French newspaper Ouest France). Then the winter seasons (Verbier, Switzerland) allowed me to discover nature, take time to have look. In my approach, an image must be read slowly discovering. I do not want to give everything, right away. Take time to look at my photos to see what is suggested. The more we look, the more one discovers. The ambition is to tell a story, to be emerging a sense. If you feel that watching my photos, then, is that I managed my work. People often tell me that my photos are 'dark'. In fact, I like playing with black shadows and strong contrasts. This allows me to keep a form of mystery, not fully reveal the image and give an 'aggression' in the image. This is also why the 'photographic printing' is very important to me. It dresses, it completes my idea. From this point of view, new technologies (digital, computer software), provide new tools to work the design of the picture. Currently I am working on the possibilities offered by the 360 °, virtual tour and with the same artistic and creative. A 'nice' photo, reproducing what we imagine at the time of the click, not what we see

I knew the 360 º panoramic photography in 2009. It really is a new reality! photography in another dimension! dynamic! interactive!
I hope to be able to record a little more of the beauty of where you go.
I am an amateur photographer - and would like it to remain so. But hopefully a decent panorama photographer. My interest in photography dates back to the days of the american lunar missions. The moon landing in 1969 was the real reason for buying my first semi-professional camera, a Nikkormat, to the vast sum of 1300 danish kroner (appr. 220 $) at that time. Being in high school, a Hasselblad, similar to the one used on the lunar expeditions, was way outside my economic means (perhaps one day? some dreams probably should remain dreams).

Hi, One day I discovered 360Cities in the Gallery layer of Google Earth. What was this? Wow, this is cool. I wanted to learn how to make them myself and so began the exciting journey of learning all about shooting panoramas, stitching, and finding out how to get them on Google Earth.
Living at the eastern edge of the Great Basin in Utah I noticed that there were not many panoramas out west of I-15 in Utah all the way over to Reno Nevada. A few shots were in the mountains in Nevada by a fellow in Salt Lake City but other than that it was empty territory with all kinds of interesting places to take photos. This was a good excuse to start exploring these areas to take panoramas that could be shared with everyone on Google Earth.
Other areas of the world are well represented in 360Cities and as a way to show thanks to the other 360Cities photographers that have taken time to shoot their parts of the world, I decided that I would try to do my part by taking photos in the areas in the western United States that don't as of yet have any panoramic photos.
Panoramio photos (photos in the default layer in Google Earth) are interesting but don't give the feeling of being at that location like a well shot 360 panorama does. I use Panoramio as a tool to locate interesting areas for 360 panorama shots. A greater concentration of photos = an interesting area to be considered for a 360.
Its fun to study the maps and Google Earth, find some areas to shoot, learn the history about the area, take the photos, stitch and try to perfect the image, and then share the image on 360 Cities and Google Earth.
I hope you enjoy the photos, and if you have any comments feel free to contact me at:
Alexy Joffre Frangieh is a Lebanese artist, who started exploring visual arts at an early age. He acquired considerable skills in electronic visual content creation. He later on saw the potential of Photography as a tool to visualize the artistic concepts he believes in. Frangieh always thought that “there is a charm in the imagery when one deals with a sequence of photographs.”
Time-lapse was one of the most direct applications of sequencing, since it introduces time and choreography. This very discipline pushes the “individual” photograph to abide by the dynamics of the “whole” and vice versa.
Alexy has many Time-lapse based works broadcasted on leading regional televisions in the form of channel bumpers. He is also a specialist in immersive imagery and giga-pixel imaging that are also forms of sequencing.
Alexy’s personal research is based on “Structure and Behavior.” The structure for the form and the behavior for the motion, both raise a challenge and re-question “rules of photography” if any.
He had designed many field-specific modifications to existing gear, besides; he had developed a long time-lapse device based on heavily modified Nikon cameras.
Alexy has made numerous installations and video artworks based on photographic capture.
Briefly, he thinks that “Nature hates Stillness” and “Life is in the Motion,” thus photograph or a still is a constituting element of a Work and never the Work itself. “After all it is the continuity of those stills that create the Motion,” he states.
Currently he is researching data-mining and artificial intelligence, and its creative possibilities when applied on sequences and large volumes of photographs.
He is working on a book that took one full year of fixed interval shooting. The book will consist of one frame but 300 scenes. 300 carefully selected captures, showcasing the singularity of both time and space and what lies beyond.
I am fairly conservative in my photographic technique, as I prefer to control as much as possible of the picture taking - the aperture; the focus; use of a fixed focal length lens; and use of a tripod whenever possible to frame and compose shots. However, one of the benefits of this has been that I have won prizes in several amateur competitions.
I fell in love with these panoramas from the first moment, and think that 360cities is a great way to see images of the world.
AirPano is a not-for-profit project focused on high-resolution spherical panorama shots from a bird’s eye view. Being the largest resource for 360° aerial panoramas in the world – by geographical coverage, number of aerial photographs, and artistic and technical quality of the images, AirPano has already photographed over two hundred most interesting locations on our planet, including North Pole, Antarctica, Mariana Trench, and even the Earth's view from the stratosphere. There are nearly two thousand 360° panoramas on our website at the moment.
I'm interested in panoramas since I started taking pictures digitally. The "real" start came when I read the book "The Wild Side of Photography" by Cyril Harnischmacher. In one chapter was a description of making little planets. That was in spring 2010. Since then I have taken about 90 panos. In the meantime I use a Nodal Ninja 5 and a Sigma 10-20 to take the panos.

Unsure how your project can be photographed? How to produce the highest quality or a desire to innovate? Your challenge is my passion!
During the years I had the joy of "hanging" my photographic equipment outside of skyscrapers, rigging cameras inside machines, building creative concepts and flying to the ends of earth for the most thrilling projects.
In my work it's important for me maintain the highest quality of work and product. I believe that a properly executed work, with no compromises, will stay relevant longer and attract more clients. Especially today when we are overwhelmed by so many images all the time. Here's my value, that's my clients' differentiation.
I'm always on the look for my next challenge, be it a large scale project or something small that just needs to be done properly.

After relocating to North Wales I realised that I moved to a very beautiful place on earth; there are mile long beaches and 1000m high mountains all in reach of 20 miles.
Inspired by the landscape, I decided to get back into an old hobby of mine - back from the old SLR and film days - photography. This coupled with good software and the internet can create some really great impressions from all around the world.
So I guess i will take my role in this and try to present the North Wales area in some 360 panoramas. This will definitely get me out, whatever the weather.
There are more panoramas I made on panorama-photo.net. Most comments there are in German but the panoramas are in the universal language

I am a professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, primarily studying the impacts of climate change in arctic Alaska. My main focus is glaciers, but also the influence that changing glaciers have on downstream ecosystems. My panoramic photography is largely in support of these efforts. I am trying to capture the current state of various landscape features in the arctic through spherical and gigapixels panoramas, so that we can assess how these features are changing in time. These images are also a nice way to share the beauty of these remote places with those who may never have the opportunity to visit them in person.

Annually on exhibitions to Hanover come hundred thousand businessmen from all over the world. Unfortunately they not always have enough free time to the full to familiarize with sights of this remarkable city.
I hope my panoramas will help them to fill this lack and virtually to take a walk across Hanover.

It all started in the summer of 1998, I discovered a few rotating images on a Japanese engineering demonstration disc. With a simple flick of the 'wand', you get to explore the whole construction site. I was absolutely fascinated by the magic of virtual reality and I had an epiphany that this is exactly what I want to do from that moment on--I want to travel all around China to capture her beauty, and let the world admire her culture, from an unbiased, comprehensive perspective.
This motivated me to establish the ChinaVR website with my partners and set up a panoramic archive for all Chinese World Heritages and tour resorts. Therefore, I was regarded as China's first VR panoramic photographer. I dedicated myself to the development and application of Panoramic photography and computer processing technique, among them, Floating panorama and Motion panorama are well received by my peers. Thanks to the support of IVRPA and WWP, ChinaVR became the top Panoramic website in China and gained reputation worldwide.
Been invited to the UN's "2006 World Heritage Web Conference" to give a speech titled "The application of vr panoramic photography in the reservation of World Heritage" at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
Gold medal of 2002 National Computer Nerds Competition Sponsored by Bejing Television.
Exclusive interview with "Age of the Internet" of China's biggest television network CCTV in 2000.
My 360 panorama "The Song of the Vagabonds" win the BESTS of 2010 IPA.
Since hundreds of thousands of Chinese people were drawn to panorama, I established a pano forum for the fans and offer them a platform to exhibit their works and share their excitement. I always encourage these friends to participate in WWP events despite the language barrier. My next step is to setup a panoramic gallery, organise a Chinese panoramic association and publish a professional magazine in China, to help Chinese pano fans to communicate with international peers.
For my personal plan, I am preparing to build some "pano-rooms", in which huge gigapixel panoramic photographs were printed on Advanced Semi-gloss Photo Paper and mounted on 4 walls, sometimes with "ceiling" and "floor". Each wall measured at least 3.5 x 3.5 meters, people stand in the center of the "room", to feel the atmosphere of reality and to watch the very fine details of the panorama even with a magnifier.
After relocating to The Netherlands, I come to realise that it's one of the most beautiful places on earth; tulips in springs and festivals in summer.
Inspired by 'foreign' daily events, I decided to get back into an old hobby - back from the old SLR and film days - photography. Coupled with good stitching software and today's fast internet, it enables me to share some really great impressions from around the world.
I will take my role in this, try to present the Netherlands and the area around it in some 360 panoramas. I only started photo stitching this spring 2013, but the pano community has some great resources online for me to learn from. You can say I'm green in this art form. But it will definitely get me out, whatever the weather.
Thanks for visiting my page.
Lew Wurdeman has been a professional photographer since 1996 and started shooting virtual tours in 2003 which resulted in launching 360minnesota.com. Having relocated to New Mexico, we have a newmexicovirtualtours.com site, and we have changed our panorama business to Omniround. We have a business presence in Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.
Our first client was a property management company with condo and apartment complexes across the country that wanted virtual tours to showcase their properties. This led to a mix of commercial, residential, and artistic panoramas being photographed in a variety of locales.
Having been in the business since the early days, we have a variety of camera, lens, and tripod combinations to produce a wide variety of shoot possiblities for any project from large to small.
We are a technologically evolving company keeping up on the latest in photographic and panoramic equipment, software and techniques. The latest "big thing" being HDR (High Dynamic Range) images using muliple bracketed shots at various exposures to dramatically improve the dynamic range of the images overcoming the shortcoming of digital photography.
We are the promoters of the new name for what we sell, the Omniview.
Omniround is available to shoot your virtual tour or panoramic project anywhere in the world. Have passport, will travel!

Since the mid-90s I have been working as a graduate photographic engineer in the field of photography, as well as in the design and programming of interactive multimedia applications. Since 2002 I have been working as a multimedia developer and panoramic photographer under the label schnurstracks gestaltung und interaktion. My clients come from the fields of advertising, industry, commerce, services, politics and administration. My specialties are virtual tours, photo based virtual reality and interactive 360°x180° panoramic photography with krpano.
I first came into contact with panoramic photography back in 2009 when a friend showed me some little planet pictures he created with Hugin. Since then I was hooked and started to devour tutorials on how to create such astonishing pictures.
Initially I was using equipment I borrowed from the university where I studied at the time. Later on I got my own gear suited for the task. The technique improved over time, as hopefully did the results as well ;-)
My love for photography started when I was young, was always fascinated about the composition and lighting, and how to mix it to get a result different from what the human eye can see. My main work as an airline pilot, allow me the chance to travel and capture different location around the world. I got introduced to the VR art almost 4 years ago, and been always learning to fine tune the skills to the perfection level. Special thanks to my mentor Henri Smeets, he was a real help to me. I have been doing it commercially for sometime now, and soon you can see more work for me on my site www.360panoworld.com, and thanks for stopping by.

I started having interest in panoramic photography and virtual reality some time ago.I have been doing virtual tour projects for clients in different areas. I love to digitalize spaces and have the capability to see places all around, and having the sense of scale and place. Thats one of the reasons why I like to travel a lot and see different kind of scenarios.
At the same time, I like to use new techniques so you can discover more interesting panos and with more features to have the best immersive virtual photo experience. My company (ORBITAL) and my clients are very happy with the results.
We think the quality and the years of experience are very important and we also believe the time and the effort that we take to deliver the final product has to be fast and with the best quality possible.
We learn every day, and we try harder every time.

I have been a lecturer in Geology at The University of Newcastle for the past 30 years. My main reason for learning how to take full spherical panoramas was to aid with the development of virtual field trips. More recently, the scope of these panoramas has expanded into the fields of architecture, botany, history and natural heritage.
In terms of equipment, I am a bit of a 'purist'. All panoramas have been captured with Pentax DSLRs - early on with a K-70, then moving on to a K-3 Mark iii, and more recently a K-1 Mark ii. Lens used is typically the SMC Pentax-DA 10-17mm F3.5-4.5 Fish-Eye ED [IF], with the exception of the infrared panoramas which were captured with the SMC Pentax-DA 12-24mm F4 ED AL [IF] and a Hoya R72 filter. As of August 2023, I have been using the film era prime SMC Pentax-A 16mm F2.8 Fish-Eye with the K1 mark ii. Cameras are mounted on a Cavix PH-720A panoramic head, which is in turn mounted on a Vanguard Alta Pro 2+ 263AP to facilitate nadir shots. I shoot RAW imagery that is then processed in ACR and stitched in PTGui Pro.

I was born in the town of Sabie, South Africa on 23rd April 1976. I started doing photography 4 years ago. The majority of my photos so far has been wildlife and nature. I am very new to the panorama photography concept. Howeve, after taking the first few panorama's, I must admit that I am hooked now, and look forward to posting a lot more great images.
The first time I saw a virtual panorama in 2011, and since then the passion for it does not leave me. I really think this is a great way to explore the world and show it to others. I was born and raised in Ventspils city, but now I live in Riga,Latvia. I will introduce you with my country through the virtual panoramas.www.iriga.eu
I am a family physician whose main hobby is photography. I have been mostly interested in Spherical Panoramas in the last few years. I like creating panoramas in unusual locations or from unusual vantage points. I have shot lighthouses from the usual "off limits" lantern room, etc. I have shot waterfalls from the pool beneath the falls, etc. I have shot commercial site for hire.
Welcome to my 360 cities profile,
I've been interested in VR photography for some time; It's a great way to show the world as it is, with an interactive character.
My interest in photography was born out of my greatest inspiration in life: Aviation. Taking pictures of aircraft, and gradually pointing the lens to other scenes. With the emergence of consumer-grade drones, both hobbies have merged in creating aerial panoramas. I am greatly inspired by the works of the people over at airpano.com.

I am resident in Shizuoka city. I make a panoramic photograph around the Shizuoka city.
I do not seek a spectacular view. I want to carefully convey the atmosphere of Shizuoka city. Also, when I travel within Japan, I want to capture the land with Japanese values. That would be very different from the values of people in Europe.

Passionate about History (University of Aix-en-Provence), came to photography with digital and multimedia, hopelessly attracted to the image and finally seduced by the panoramic photo that opens up new perspectives.
Today I try to capture the Provence, its light and beauty to share with you.
I was born in Switzerland back in 1946 and inherited my father's dedication (addiction??) for photography. I am grateful for this 'genetic endowment' because it opened my eyes for the beauty of this world.
My life-long dream to live in the USA became true in 2008 when we finally were lucky winners in the 'Green Card Lottery'. Now we're living in North Salt Lake, Utah where the world is even more beautiful than anywhere else, at least in my eyes ;-)
Humans have this extraordinary sense of sight to see the world, not only in a wide angle perspective but in 'panorama mode'. So I was never happy I had to use the 2:3 format to show the beauty of our world. Therefore I created my first panos back in the 80-s, back then using paper, scissors and glue. The first digital 360° single row pano I took about 2002 on top of our home in Liechtenstein using a 1 MegaPixel HP Camera. What a progress, no more glue, no more scissors!
Some years ago I walked right into the '360Cities-trap'. I was not only flabbergasted, I immediately knew that's how I wanted to express myself. So I started at the very bottom of the learning curve and was lucky enough to get in contact with John Austin Roberts who was a great mentor for me. I have to give my sincere thanks to him. And thanks to all members of our community for the inspiration.
Customer service rep by night, photography hobbyist and mild-mannered composer by day. I like to travel when I can afford it, but rarely stray far from home. I hope soon to have a collection here of some of the best sites the Tennessee Valley has to offer. Hopefully by years end I'll have a series of cave entrances (Not the interior of the caves themselves-unfortunately-due to White Nose Syndrome) located in various wildlife preserves in the area. I'm still working on obtaining the permission to get access to some of the properties, and some of them will require special planning as they can only be accessed by boat without tresspassing on private land.
So peruse, enjoy, and if you want a print, be sure to buy! :)
I started my career as an officer in the early nineties. My big interest in technology led me early into the field of planning IP networks for the Swedish armed forces. After a few years, I went out civilian and worked with the development of data warehousing. Now I am working on a telecom operator with mostly solution architecture in major IT projects and with Enterprise Architecture in general.
My interest in photography has followed me through the years, some of it you can see in my photo blogg fotosmeden.se.

I'm an engineer by training and an artist by inclination. I've been doing photography since the early 1970's and created my first panorama in 2003. I'm now located in Walpole, New Hampshire and make trips around the region to photograph scenic spots that I love. Of course, I take a picture of a usual advertising photograph. However, web is not existence on the side of advertising photograph that can be disregarded recently. Then, when I saw panorama VR taking a picture and production for the first time, the point and I felt it interesting. In addition, I can discover interest different by know the existence of 360cities, and cooperate with others.
I have worked in the field of computers and digital imaging for the past 33 years and been involved in the evolution and acceptance of computer imaging from both a hardware and software perspective since joining U.K. digital pioneer Quantel in 1984.
During my time with Quantel, I was responsible for introducing digital technology to the arts and media industries in the U.S. from my base in Silicon Valley. I also travelled regularly to the U.K. to work with Qantel’s development team on the UI and functionality of what would become the industry standard of it’s time: the Quantel Paintbox.
In 1987, I left Quantel to start his own Hollywood based company, Electric Paint. Employing this new digital technology I produced Key Art for major motion pictures including Edward Scissorhand, Terminator II, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Die Hard I & II, Silence of the Lambs, JFK & Born on the Fourth of July and album covers such as Michael Hutchence’s MaxQ, Nirvana’s Nevermind, Elvis Costello’s Spike, and The Beasty Boys’ St Paul’s Café.
Returning to Australia in 1994, I established Red Square Productions, one of the country’s first Web Development Agencey. Red Square went on to develop long lasting business relationships with companies such Qantas, Telstra, YHA, Panasonic Australia, The Good Guys, Harvey World Travel, Maersk Line Shipping and the oneworld Alliance of Airlines. Red Square Productions was known for its innovative approach to web development, pioneering a number of technologies in Australia and popularising 360˚ immersive imagery, creating unique virtual tours of sporting locations such as Olympic Park, accommodation offerings by Australian Youth Hostels and promotional events for Panasonic Australia, Qantas and Telstra.
In 2008 I merged Red Square’s business with local agency Webqem, allowing me to pursue my interest in travel, 360˚ panorama photography, and all things digital.
In 2012 I became involved with an Australian start-up company Mogeneration and its tablet publishing solution Oomph taking on the role of Creative Technologist.
I was recognised in the Australian Mobile Awards for my work in developing the award winning apps for Sky-OneCentral Park (Frost Design/Fraser Properties), Experience the Highs ( New England (NSW) tourism) apps and his 360˚ panoramic photographic contribution to the MCA Anish Kapoor app.
In 2014 I returned to my home city of Adelaide to focus on new technologies and ways of providing 360˚ Panoramic Photography, 360˚ Video and 360˚ Web & App services.
Today I am working with a diverse group of clients to develop 360˚ virtual tour content. My clients include the French luxury cruising company Ponant (Worldwide locations), various divisions of the University of Tasmania (Web and Mobile VR apps), Pichi Richi Railway (Quorn), Stuartholme School (Brisbane) and MadebyFairfax (Sydney).

I'm living and working in Nagoya, Japan. Nowadays most of my photography is 360 VR panoramas and I'm in the process of building up a business with 360 panoramas, virtual tours, and object view photography. I've worked in the software industry since the late 90s in quality assurance and user experience.
Geographer, teacher and author, living and working in the south west of the UK. In my spare time I'm a climber, surfer and mountain-biker, and keen landscape photographer.
I'm interested in the way that panoramas are used in the classroom and I aim to use 360 Cities to create a bank of images to support geography teaching. I would consider taking on commissioned projects as well.
I have been going to India 2 times a year for the past 5 or 6 years to learn more about how they work with large animals. Have been to all of the large animal events and many other places there too. I first started shooting VR Photos at the Pushkar Camel Fair, then some of the other camel events, elephant events, forts, palaces and old ruins.

I'm a hobby photographer, playing with panoramas on my free time, or during my professional activities. I'm regularly on the field during my scientific trips as an Earth scientist. I'm a researcher in geophysics and physics of Earth processes working for the CNRS, the french National Center of Scientific Research. My lab base is the Institute of Earth Physics of Strasbourg (Institut de Physique du Globe de Strasbourg), University of Strasbourg.

Rick started shooting panos in the early 1980’s with a Nikon 35mm camera. This was back in the days of film, when panoramic images were painstakingly assembled by hand, and any correction was done in the dark-room. His days of film are long gone, and now it’s 100% digital. The darkroom was replaced by PhotoShop and his old Nikon F3 with a Kodak digital camera, then a Nikon, another Kodak, a canon 20D, and currently a Canon 7D. He still has a couple of the Bogen tripods from 30 years ago, albeit with modern tripod heads.
Self made photographer, specialized in panoramics. Previously a multimedia developer creating business presentations and cd-rom for museums. The early panoramas were made with compact camera's, these delivered nice cilindrical images but that wasn't enough so I invested time and money to go pro in the panorama field. C360.NL is the result.
I'm Julien, 32, living near Paris. I have been into panoramic photography for 8+ years now. I think that 360° panoramas are really taking photography to the next level.
From my travels, I brought back many panoramas that I now regularly publish on this site and my blog.
Indeed, I am also the guy behind the Exploration Junkie panorama travel blog - with, you guessed it, spherical and cylindrical panoramas from my explorations, photo galleries and more!
I do my best to develop my website and this profile on 360Cities, don't hesitate to say hi if you like my panos!
Thanks for visiting my page.
Don Manion grew up in suburban New York. Eager to explore areas that were new and unknown to him, he quickly learned to turn toward the nearby Long Island Sound as an avenue of discovery. Open spaces and wilderness seem to speak to him in a way that can be better understood through his photographic works.
Besides the many years developing his eye while working and cruising on the US and Canadian north eastern coast, Don has also lived in the desert Southwest for the last 10 years.
Rarely without a camera Don has turned to panoramic photography to better share some of his experiences with anyone who ever felt passionate about what is up the next canyon!
Dividing his time between the Southwest and Coastal New England, Don is comfortable in many environments.

I discovered panoramic photography in the year 2000 after getting my first digital camera (a canon digital elph) which came with its own primitive panorama stitching software. Soon after that I imagined that a virtual tour of Prague, one of the world's most beautiful cities, would be a great idea. I first worked on prague360.com with Adam Trachtman. At the time, there were no google maps (or any other mapping API) available for Prague, and it took some time to even find a high-resolution street map of Prague that could be used for this purpose. The original site used a flash-based map component combined with interactive panoramas played via the QTVR / Shockwave / Spi-v / Java / DevalVR plugins.
At the time, prague360.com was one of the Internet's first websites combining a map with georeferenced 360º photos - predating Google Streetview by two years.
When the Google Maps API became available, Prague360.com morphed into 360cities.net, and more and more panoramic photographers used this platform to publish their growing collections of 360º photos. The company was formally founded in 2007 with angel investment. In 2008 it became integrated with Google Earth, where it remains over ten years later. 608076502
In 2014 I started my next company, Sphericam, designing and building professional-grade 360º cameras for Virtual Reality.
I do consulting work for startups involved in camera hardware design, VR, and 360º imaging.
I'm always interested in shooting Gigapixel images, especially of cities, from the top of a skyscraper.
I can be reached by skype at jeffrey.s.martin or by phone/whatsapp/signal at country code +420, followed by the phone number at the end of the fourth paragraph in this text.
I am an amatuer photographer as it is a hobby and not a profession. My panorama goal is to shoot interesting landscapes without man made structures and in locations where the general public does not access. Occasionally, I will include a structure if it has significance with respect to the rest of the panorama.
Robert first saw spherical panoramas (or photo bubbles as they were called then in 1999) and wondered how they were created. After looking into the subject and finding Prof. Helmute Derschs early versions on Panotool he decided to give it a go.
His first spherical panorama was taken on 35mm film using a standard tripod head. The photos were processed, scanned and then stitched (there were no GUI frontend's it was text files). The alignment of the photos wasn't perfect, but it proved it could be done.
Over the years he has continually improved his camera setup and post processing process. On the camera side he went from a Nikon Coolpix 990 and FC-E8 fisheye lens through to currently a Nikon D300 and 10.5mm fisheye lens. While post processing he now used Adobe Lightroom 3 and PTGui.
He now takes his panoramic camera setup wherever he goes and enjoys shooting everything from local views to holiday destinations. He also has contributed to the World Wide Panorama project since the first event in March 2004.
Thanks for visiting. I am an amateur photographer, mechanical engineer, machinist, entrepreneur, builder of widgets and airplanes, pilot, hunter, and a motorcycle racer. I shoot panoramas with a Canon 5D MII using a 16/35mm and a 15mm fisheye. I am continuously amazed at the incredible engineering behind our own human eye. As photographers, we attempt to reproduce how the human eye captures light and color. In controlled conditions we can simulate what this feat of engineering does so effortlessly.
How foolish and insulting to the designer and builder, to attribute this spectacular universe and world to an accident. As an engineer, I would liken it to touring the space shuttle and attributing it to the work of an amateur - not knowing or caring that the chief engineer is your guide - and you thought he was just a volunteer.
Romans 3:20 For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
After forty eight years of working for large corporations in a technical management capacity, I have retired and begun to explore my lifelong interest in photography. In the sixties I enjoyed spending many hours in my basement darkroom processing black and white film and photographs. Later on, in the early seventies, I began to work part time as a wedding photographer for a large studio and then in my own business. Working forty plus hours a week, combined with all the photography work on the side, caused me to become an unfamiliar face with my own children and I reverted back to photography as a hobby. Now, that every night is a Friday night and every day a Saturday, I am taking advantage of my free time doing what I have enjoyed for so long. Things have changed quite a bit over the years. The hours spent in the darkroom with my enlarger are now spent in front of my computer with Photoshop and Lightroom. I hope you enjoy the photos I will be posting.
'I love my panoramas ... I love to see everything around me in a compact perspective - my visual metaphor of life simplified .... '
G'day from a true blue certified PANORAMAHOLIC from Sydney - Australia !
I've always been fascinated with photography in general but there is something about the wide angle shots and landscape pictures that definitely attracts me the most. I like to travel and record as much as I can see - The world is beautiful and I hope I can travel even further than I have been in the past -
I have started creating panoramas around the late 2010 - the proper one's where I have to stitch a series of pictures using HUGIN and complementing it with photoshop for some 'editing' ...they were rough but I learn and I am still learning until now ... mind you it took me a while to figure out how to get rid of the hole in the 'Zenith' and the 'Nadir' - that is after countless googles ...
My latest one's were done using HDR brackets shots ...Yayyyy !!! - I find it with HDR, I can depict a more realistic scenery or make it 'surreal' which I am not going to anyway ... I am proud of my works and I hope you enjoy and share the same fascination with me for my creations .... Thank you for visiting ...
I am a (mostly) amateur photographer lucky enough to travel often professionally. Whenever I'm travelling I'm bringing my tripod and camera along, so I can shoot panoramas. I plan to upload most of my non-profit panos here.
I also shoot panos professionally for corporations or institutions - sadly I'm not allowed to post them here for most of them. References include Nokia and BNP Paribas.
I started taking pictures and panoramas in 2005. My first setup was a Nikon D50, the NN3 pano head and the Sigma 10-20mm zoom. I've since upgraded to a Nikon D800E, the NN5 and the Nikkor 14-24 zoom, which is nowadays my main shooting gear. Along the way, I also owned a D3, which is an awesome camera. The D800E shoots more pixels, with a better dynamic range, but I long for the "built like a tank, never fails" feel of the D3.
In many of my panos I make a liberal use of HDR - I usually shoot several exposures (from 3 to 9), and decide at post-processing time whether or not to use HDR. With the D800E, and visibly better dynamic range, I only seldom have to resort to HDR, especially as tools got better too at extracting highlights and shadows from Raw files (LR4).
Software-wise, my workflow uses Lightroom, Photomatix where applicable, and a liberal pinch of Photoshop. DxO was a must to remove non-linear distorsions from the images coming out of the 14-24, until the same feature became available in Lightroom. To stitch images, I'm now using Autopano Pro, after several years of using Realviz Stitcher.
We would like to create the best virtual country (U.A.E.) in the world where you can find and see 360° panorama photos in virtual tours from all of important place, landmark, museum, heritage, building, hotel, restaurant, bar, shop, showroom, company, factory, mall, government office, park, water park, theme park, entertainment place .... etc. in the Emirates.
As a self taught photographer who became interested in photography since the beginning of the digital camera era, Marco Waagmeester is always striving to evolve his photographic knowledge and skills. After several years of underwater photography with a compact camera, Marco invested in a DSLR camera in 2009 and got equipment for the creation of spherical panoramas early 2010..
Virtual Tour photographer based in the UK
I have been creating panoramic images for over 20 years now. Starting from simple holiday snaps on film cut and paste physically together as a montage, now fully embracing the digital era and all the advantages and options that it entails.

I am a hobbyist photographer from Estonia, who got exited about panoramic photography the moment I saw the panorama picture mode on the first digital compact camera I had access to. Those old cylindrical panos with lots of stitching errors seem somewhat less than spectacular now, but they sure are nostalgic :)
Nowadays I carry my fisheye with me all the time, and a small selection of what I shoot ends up here.
Some of my non-panoramic pictures can be seen here
I have worked in many capacities within the fields of education, information technology, multi-media and instructional design, in the UK, Saudi Arabia, Romania, and in the USA. An avid photographer for most of my life, I began exploring 360 VR photography while working with faculty and students and in 2010 attended the IVRPA Conference in Tuscon. From there I became an avid 360 VR photographer and immersive media maker, as well as teaching workshops on 360 photography.
I started my adventure with the world of panoramic photography in 2008.
My little challenge is to capture the most beautiful places around Australia and beyond. A lot of them are off the beaten track, often very inaccesible and remote.
If you know of any places that are worth to be put on the map for others to enjoy, I would like to hear from you!
Check out more panoramas and virtual tours on my website (there's heaps more!):
I am an experienced graphic designer who came to the world of 360 panoramic photography initially as an exploration into what was possible and also as a break from the normal day job. 360cities was my first contact with the 360 world and I have learnt much from other photographers on this site.
I'm a fan of the English countryside and I intend to show as much of Britain's hidden side as I can, as well as anything else that catches my eye...
Ivan Aliverti escaped Milan and did his very first dive in 1991 with a camera in his hands and hasn’t been able to let go of it since. His diving career took him from Kenya, through Sardinia and the Maldives to the Red Sea, where he has worked for the last 14 years. He took his first picture when he was 14 and took his first underwater picture in 1992. Since then, he has been filming, taking pictures and winning competitions doing both. A real ‘Aliverti’ is more than just an image, he manages to truly capture the moment and convey to you the essence of his surroundings. www.360-images.com
Hello. I am an amateur photographer rather than a professional. I like the technical side of photography, ie, that was the idea: "and how he did it." So I always choose the most complicated versions as you know now.
I use the camera Canon EOS 7D, Nikon D90, Tokina 11-16 f/2.8Nikon Lens 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 VR, Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod and spherical head Nodal Ninja 3 MKII. Score: 44 pictures are not given further details if required. Also shoot very large panoramas Gigapan
Mac Os, Cinema 30"
Which of my favorite panoramas? The one , I am going to do tomorrow.
My occupation is Environmental Geology work in California which takes me to various types of construction sites with unique settings for a 360 panaroma. Also, with job sites all over the metro LA area, I stop at interesting, off the beaten path, locations I see traveling the backstreets of LA.
I use a Gigapan EPIC 100 motorized mount and a 17 foot tall tripod with various camera's ranging from a FUJI JZ 300 point and shoot to a Sony Alpha A350 DSLR. My day job prohibits extensive travel, but I am available at sites within and in the vicinity of the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area.
I do some web stuff and panoramas for fun and might start to put musical soundscapes to them when I get the motivation. I play keyboards and compose a bit .. up a mountain .. with just the stream and the birdsong to accompany .. jazz and blues mostly. I have one son Michael, grandsons Jake and Lucas, Dad in Guildford UK, 4 brothers in the UK and 2 sisters - one living in Guildford and one out in Wisconsin. My wife is a retired Head-teacher (a.k.a. school principal). We share our time between the UK Brixham and to escape our compatriots to Český Jiřetín which is on the Czech/German Border we heard they gossip about us a lot but since we cannot understand much Czech it suits us just fine.
Thank you for viewing my page. I am not a pro-photographer, but 360cities.net provides every user or contributor the ability to see locations all across the globe in their full glory, without the boredom of check-ins, long haul flights and visa restrictions. I am keen to support this PC based luxury as best I can; taking photos from every interesting place I visit, whether it is in the Middle East, Europe or beyond.
I visited Syria for my 40th birthday in 2011. I chose not to take my camera. My account on 360cities could have helped preserve those sights and locations before a pointless civil war destroyed 1000 years of history in a decade. I hope to never regret the omission of any hand baggage as much.
Enjoy the images and join in.

After my graduation, I moved to Paris, working for a well established professional photographic company (Studio COLLET : www.collet.fr), which is the first european digital studio. I have worked there and learn how to optimize the light for digital use in collaboration with the biggest parisian advertising agencies.
Early 2000, I moved to Tahiti - French Polynesia.
I stayed for 6 years on a little Island (Huahine) to feel the incredible natural light which bathing this part of the Pacific. In the meantime, I have developped a commercial Image Bank (www.tahiti-imagebank.com) to sell my pictures all over the world, especially for travel industry.
I'm now settled since 4 years in Papeete where I'm developping website for hospitality industry with 360° virtual tour concept interiors and architectural pictures. I am also french Polynesia official photographer for Starwood hotels - Sheraton, Luxury collection, St Regis.
I have been involved in photography since I was 8 years old and in computer graphic design for the past 35 years. My company is PhotoArizona360. I specialize in 360 degree and wide angle panoramas in Arizona and surrounding states. I am available for consultation about building an online graphic presence with the use of dynamic 360 views.
I have more than forty years' experience in law, computers and over forty years experience as a research genealogist. I presently serve as a volunteer at the Mesa Regional Family History Center in Mesa, Arizona where I alternate between helping patrons and teaching classes. I am most interested in the technological aspects of genealogical research because of my strong technology background. My own family were pioneers who settled in Utah and Arizona in the 1800s. My family dates back to the Mayflower and with the exception of one Great-great-grandfather who came from Denmark, my family all came from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
I'm an experienced, knowledgeable and professional panoramic photographer and producer, with more than a decade creating commercial 360° content.
I'm passionate about all aspects of 360° content; producing conventional photographic, stereographic, animated and video panoramic projects, as well as object VRs. Delivering virtual reality (VR) content for a range of sectors – amongst retail, education, hospitality, tourism, security, industrial and the arts – is what drives me, especially as 360/VR° and immersive content is starting to see widespread mainstream adoption across a range of media and devices.
I've 20 years of professional design industry experience in print, digital and screen; working on 3D design, visualisation and imagery since the late 90s. I've specialised in digital, panoramic and immersive photography since 2005; equally stimulated by the creative and technical skills required to deliver excellent quality work. I have also been a member of the International VR Photography Association for many years.
I founded and led a specialist virtual reality team in one of the UK's leading shopper marketing agencies, delivering innovative VR solutions for brands and retailers including Disney, GlaxoSmithKline, L’Oreal, Thorntons, Boots, Argos, Homebase, Sky and Asda WalMart. These were deployed as desktop, mobile and offline solutions; including dedicated immersive life-sized walk-in ‘Virtual Labs’ in London and Leeds.
My professional work covers a wide range of subjects and categories; my personal work reflects recurrent themes of placement, enclosure, context, texture and light. In all cases I aim to capture both a moment in time, and a sense of place which provokes an emotional response from the viewer.
Realism, accuracy and detail are key to compelling 360° content. The immersive nature of panoramic photography enables the viewer to be placed in the centre of the subject matter… achieving what generations of visual artists before have striven to achieve.
My first attempt at a 360° image was in 1991, inspired by David Hockney's photo-montage work from the early 80s. The process (with a point and shoot film camera) was hit-and-miss, and the final result less than impressive. I put my panoramic photographic career on pause. Experiencing the earliest QTVRs in the late 90s amazed me and piqued my curiosity, but it wasn't until RAW-based digital photography in the mid 2000s allowed me to combine my interest in CG and photography, and I plunged head-first in to a 360° visual world.
Many thanks for taking time to look at my panoramic photographs.
I was born in the United Kingdom. I’ve lived in the UK, Canada, Kenya, Vietnam, Indonesia, Tanzania, Côte d'Ivoire, Algeria and presently in Geneva, Switzerland. I became a Canadian citizen in 2007. "We should not pretend to understand the world only by intellect. We apprehend it just as much by feeling. Therefore, the judgement of the intellect is, at best, only the half of truth, and must, if it be honest, come to an understanding of its own inadequacy." Carl Jung
I studied Mathematics, I continued with informatics and now I am the captain of Cosmart (creative web solutions), writing millions lines of code everyday, nevertheless trying to see web design from another point of view. Photography for me is not just a click. I am trying to capture the moment colored through my eyes …
I mostly shoot as a hobby, appreciating interesting projects, and mainly to document my life. Photography gives me energy and creativity to enjoy my life and its moments, travelling around the world.

”How did you get into that?' That's the question I get from people viewing my website or one of my prints. If it's a 'little planet view' they are often tipping their head or in some cases shaking it. I guess you could say there are two elements that draw me to this kind of photography. One would be getting high and the other would be looking around with a wide angle view.
I'm not sure where the getting high thing started. Perhaps it was my dad putting me on a booster seat in his Piper Comanche and letting me do the elevator and ailerons while he did the rudder. I couldn't reach. Perhaps it’s a 60s thing. I won't go into that too much. It's a blur anyway. Getting up high has not always worked out for me. From falling out of the top bunk in Indian Guides to tumbling backwards out of a willow tree from 40' at the age of 10 to a botched hang gliding launch at the age of 38, I have certainly taken my lumps. I suspect more than a few people think these sudden jolts to my brain matter account for my fixation on the 'little planet views'. In spite of all this I must say I have enjoyed the sensation and the view some altitude provides, from late afternoon flights with an Eagle just off my glider's wingtip, to sunsets perched in a cave on the side of a cliff. I suppose I'm getting stodgy because I get my views from a remote control camera mount on a tethered blimp or a 45' pole with a robot named Ansel on top but somehow I still manage to get my fix.
The wide angle view thing I think stems from my 'day job' doing computer aided design. I'm always rotating 3D models and zooming in and out so when I saw my first interactive panorama on the web I was hooked quickly. I also think It just goes with getting high. You climb the cliff to get the wide angle view. I've heard a spherical panorama described as 'all that can be seen from a point'. I like to think of 'little planet views' and
'tunnel views' as all that can be seen from a point seen all at once. I hope you all 'enjoy the view.'
Thanks for looking,

Well I'am living in The Netherlands and for some years busy with photography, and have been always interested in making panorama photo's. Most of the times these photos where images of 4-5 photo's stitched together. From here on I tried to make 360 pano's an noticed that it was very difficult to make these without a tripod. So I started making these photo's on the tripod but that still was not good enough. So I started to look what was needed to make perfect 360 panorama photo's. And on the internet I saw some Pano Heads, which I made myself from metal. And see here the result.
So I think it's a great way to freese an location with this photo techniek and than share it with the world.
Thanks for looking at my 360 images and greetings, Pierre.
From in New York City, Jook Leung is a professional 360 Panoramic Photographer intent on capturing wide-view images of people in urban landscapes around the world. His work has been described as "visually rich narratives depicting the intricacies of the world's cultures with the full spectrum of human emotion." Through his work, viewers can experience not only what the world looks like from a single vantage point, but the entire visual spectrum that they would have if they were spinning around in a circle while standing on the same point in real time.
Spanning the last two decades, Jook's 360 panoramic photography reveals the more subtle interactions between subjects and their environment that might not be apparent in regular photos. His work captures greater detail than standard photographs, offering viewers an understanding of the composition in deeper context. Differing from videography, panoramic photographs can be viewed in their entirety in a single moment or presented digitally, allowing the viewer to explore its dimensions with a mouse or a touch screen.
Always looking for the his next shot and ready to see it before it happens, Jook is internationally recognized as an innovator in spherical panoramic photography. In a rare achievement, he was awarded three consecutive Fuji Film Masterpiece Awards for photographic excellence in electronic imaging by the International Association of Panoramic Photographers (IAPP). Additionally, his experience spans 34 years as an advertising and editorial photographer with a background in photo-illustration and digital imaging. Commercially, his current work with immersive panoramas includes hospitality, tourism, events and museum projects.
Jook has given presentations and workshops about his work at International Virtual Reality Photography Association (IVRPA) / VR Summits and at International Association of Panoramic Photographers (IAPP) Conventions. He has written articles for Panorama Magazine. In January 2005, his panoramas were featured in an on-air interview on ABC's News Now program about his 360VR panoramas of Times Square on New Year's Eve.
Giovanni Savino never received any formal photographic training but loved and practiced photography since childhood. He started to work in film and television when he was sixteen years old and learned the trade hands on, relying on advice from the best photographers and producers in the annals of TV broadcasting. He produced a number of live music recordings and documentary films, mainly in the Dominican Republic, which received positive Media exposure and rapidly became important reference and teaching tools in many academic collections. His desire to deliver a strong yet very concise message made him focus increasingly on still photography during the last decade.

I'm an architect, engineer, and I love travel and photography.
I got obsessed with spherical panoramas when I first discovered them in 2001, intrigued by the ability to capture the entire spherical scene in a single image and to share and explore these immersive worlds. I followed developments in this field from the old QTVR panoramas to when panoramas started appearing in the more flexible Flash format, to when it went mainstream through various smartphone apps and 360 cameras.
In 2010, I made my first spherical panorama using the 18-55mm kit lens that came with my DSLR, a tripod, and a Nodal Ninja MKII panohead. Many of my panoramas have been made using this setup and HDR bracketting.
An Engineer by Profession , currently working on Multi Axis CNC Machines... I was intrested in photography from an early age but never had the knowledge and gear ... when I saw a 360 Spherical pano on google earth for the first time I was Amazed .. and at that very moment I knew , I am soon going to make one .. with the help of Google and Youtube I was able to achive it.....
Most of the Pano's are handheld . With every pano I make I learn a new thing and trying to improve ....:)

Afterwards continued his studies on Fine Art Photography by following postgraduate studies in England, sponsored by the Hellenic Republic State Scholarships Foundation (IKY).
He works as a professional photographer since 1994, at the field of commercial photography, advertising and social events, also in collaboration with editions and advertising companies. From 2001 to 2005 he was teaching Photographic Applications, as a Laboratorial Collaborator, at the School of Photography of TEI Athens. Jeff was born and raised in the Philippines particularly in a small town of Negros Oriental named Dumaguete, officially known as "The City of Gentle People". He started taking photographs of people using D-SLR in mid 2010. His main interest is in lifestyle photography which involves taking portraits of family, engagement sessions, weddings, fashion/glamour and everyday life of people. Moreover, he also enjoys the unique way of art capturing photographs called 360 degree panoramas or the virtual reality where there is a human-computer interaction in which a real or imaginary environment is simulated and user interacts with, manipulate and take a virtual tour of the worlds iconic places.
He is now currently based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates working as a full time software analyst and developer. For him photography was just an accident since his main hobby was all about sports and music. He plays badminton, table tennis, skateboarding and musical instruments particularly guitar.
He also believes that taking a picture and setting up strobes is just the half of making a great photograph, but the time spent in post processing to make the photo more pleasing and more dramatic saturates more of the story behind it.
Furthermore, he also enjoys taking experimental and creative photographs to widen his arsenal such as high speed, light painting, perspective, compositing and walk-in zoom timelapse.
I am recently out of the Army National Guard and still identify closely with the military life. Possibly because I was Air Force from '84-'88 and joined the Army in 2007. In between those two periods of service, I have worn many hats. I first became interested in and connected to panoramic and HDR photography in 2004 when I went to work as Marketing Assistant for SpheronVR in Germany. I eventually moved back home to the States and when I left SpheronVR in 2006, I lost sight of panoramic photography for a while. In 2007, I joined the Army and was deployed to Kosovo from Apr 2008 until Apr 2009. While in Kosovo, I started experimenting again with handheld and tripod mounted cylindrical panos. Upon my return home, I purchased Manfrotto's 303SPH panohead. I found I didn't have the time to experiment properly with the equipment until this summer (2013). Now I'm learning something new about spherical panos everyday. I enjoy capturing scenic panos, especially historical or military related and am currently capturing panos by commission for local businesses. I am using a Nikon D40 with the 18-55mm lens. I intend to begin experimenting with my Nikkor 10mm fisheye in the future but not in a hurry until I upgrade to a camera with a higher resolution.
He is a professional photographer, specialized in panoramic photography, based in Herford. The main fields of work of the internationally awarded photographer are scientific documentations. On his homepage derPanoramafotograf.com

I often say that I am a photographer that does not necessarily specialize in anything, but rather have a vast experience in a wide variety of photographic fields. I often photograph things I enjoy doing and understand the best. Being a skydiving instructor, scuba diver, 6a Climber, cyclist and all round aviation and extreme sports enthusiast, I believe that I posses a few interesting characteristics and skills that separate me from the usual photographers. Simple things like difficult angles and challenging lighting does not put me off taking the perfect image in any environment. I am equally at home inside a purpose built studio and hanging from an abseil rope thousands of feet above the ground. That is all quite a mouth full and the only way I can think of explaining it better is by blogging about it. So on www.picturemyplanet.xyz you will find a few of my current favorite images and a small explanation of what they are all about. They might also be in other galleries on the same site where they will be accompanied by other photographs I enjoy. I am skilled in conventional photography, 3D modeling and 360 x 360 degree imaging. I have already applied my skills and abilities to some of the largest and most prestigious hotel groups, international aviation companies and extreme sports imaging, adventures and activities, events and expeditions, as well as having imaged some of the more unusual environments, from the deepest canyons and caves to the highest pubs, mountains and peaks and the absolute top end of products, fashion and real estate. Currently living in New Zealand, I am in search of my next fulfilling challenge. My CV intro states: Innovative, enterprising and resourceful, I have exceptional knowledge and understanding of the world of photography, vast experience in a diverse array of photographic disciplines and numerous credits to my name. Having successfully managed my own freelance company for the past 17 years, I possess skills in business logistics, project management, and customer focused services. Efficient and ambitious I take pride in being an accomplished photographer and keeping up to date with the latest trends, equipment and software.
My name is Brian Conroy. I live in Tigard, a suburb of Portland Oregon.
When I was a teenager I used to splice my photos together and make ultrawide panoramas. Once I discovered 360 panoramas in 2006 I was so excited I spent $2,000 on all the equipment I needed on line the next day and I never looked back. I love taking these photos. They do so much more to capture the spirit and time of place. I am very lucky to have been raised in one of the most beautiful states in the country. My dad grew up in very rural central Oregon. Fortunately he took me out there to fish whenever he could. I hope you enjoy these Panoramas as much as I do. I wish I could add sound to them to really put you there. Don't miss my panoramas on the top of the Mt. St. Helens volcano in Washington State and Zion National Park in Utah and Jefferson Park, Oregon. For a fun one see my family panorama in Tigard, Oregon.
Thanks for stopping by, Brian Conroy
Ride on horseback, dancing at balls, go sailing on the Tall Ships ....
During my travels, visited various places in Europe, Asia and Africa. Photographed wildlife in Uganda, volcanic gases rising from the craters of volcanoes in Kamchatka, was a sailor on a three-mast sailing frigate Shtandart.
I photograph for more than 20 years. Worked in a variety of genres, from reportage to studio costumed staged shots.
In photography, I try to show that part of the world, which usually escapes the gaze. Rare condition of human, dreams and fantasies, creative displays people around me, unique places of our planet, subculture ... All that shows that the world is more complex and interesting than commonly believed.
Besides the usual photos in 3D photography and computer-graphics.
I taught photography in a design college and Photo courses. Conducted photo safari in Uganda, Nepal, Kamchatka, Baikal. I participated in many exhibitions: International Exhibition of 3D pictures "Stereotypes" (St. Petersburg 2011), Spring forever! (Moscow. 2007), The Beauty of Russia throuh Photographic Lens (Richmond, USA. 2005), Personal exhibition "Chimera" (Moscow, Cult Club, 2004), and others."
It all started in 1998 with my first digital camera and the start of Enviropix, LLC. Over the years I have shot thousands of tours and worked with hundreds of clients. It's also the only thing I do, so you can count on tours that get my full attention and professional editing.
Visit often as I will continue to add new and exciting tours.
I started to work in the area of spherical panoramic photography back in 2002. I used the Nikon Coolpix 995 / EC8 combination for quite a while. I started to shoot full screen spherical panoramas in May 2005. In 2007 I started to make pole shots and crowd shooting.
I usually participate at the World Wide Panorama event.

I Retired from the PAPD in 2000. Photography has been my obsession since my Navy days many years ago. It has kept me sane and traveling, and given me great enjoyment throughout the years. I put many photos in Panoramio so it was a simple progression to 360Cities. Now I have another excuse for a road trip...another spherical pano is just around the corner.

Hello, my name is Timothy Oldfield, a virtual tour photographer (actually, the ONLY 360° photographer) with Washington State 360. ;)
The Washington State 360 Project is my way of assisting with the "warm introduction" to various locations around the state of Washington in these United States of America.
Most of the 360-degree (fully-spherical) panoramas I capture or create are now being posted here on "360cities.net", and many are also being shared on Google Street View and Google Maps through my Trusted Photographer account, and Local Guide account (for posting of snapshots, often voluntarily, to assist small businesses and non-profits with editing and otherwise delineating their Maps listings). If you have a VR headset, Google Cardboard viewer, or other stereo viewer, click on the tiny cardbord goggles icon and enjoy another level of experience. ;)
Studies have shown that VR Tours (sets of Virtual Reality panoramas) can boost visitor-count dramatically. Once virtually in-the-door, your location becomes more engagingly "familiar", which allows most virtual visitors to more easily drop residual resistance, and perhap raise their curiosity, thereby increasing the likelihood of visiting for real. Which in turn allows them to promote your establishment to acquaintences.
While building these collections of 360-degree panoramas, I also enjoy keeping the locations and subjects diverse. Sometimes it is fun to allow a viewer to experience a perspective not generally open to the public (for safety, insurability, security or other reasons), such as venturing into a production area or out onto a condemned bridge, etcetera. What would you like to share from a unique perspective?

I am a photographer based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
I have been an enthusiastic photographer since the 1970's shooting with my dad's Pentax spotmatic, later converting to Canon film-based. I finally made a move to digital in 2004, and stuck with Canon to reuse my lenses. I still dabble in film with my prida and joy being a Mamiya RB67 Medium Format camera.
My portfolio has been tied closely to my work and my other hobbies. My portfolio included entertainment, portrait, model, live events, landscapes, and travel photography. I have been official photographer for the Vonk Afrikaans music awards for two years and also for the first Ghoema Music awards in 2012.
As landscape photographer I have dabbled with wide panorama's but the 360 degree bug has only recently bitten me on a trip to Saudi Arabia. I did some work with a photographer based in Saudi Arabia who has been doing 360 degree panos for their Department of Tourism, and I promptly started doing the research, picked up a Panohead and an 8 mm Sigma lens and have been experimenting with the Sigma, and with other format lenses.
I still have a lot to learn, and participating in- and tudying all the amazing works on this site is a step for me to explore the possibilities that this form of photography offers to those who would like to get to know it.
Looking forward to the journey with anticipation and excitement.
I'm a hobby photographer who heard his jaw drop to the floor when he saw his first interactive panorama (Jay Leno's studio). I've been shooting panoramas myself since 2001. In 2006 and 2007 I contributed to the board of the PanoTools and PanoToolsNG mailinglists, but since life has more than one priority, I had to step back. Nowadays I predominantly shoot panoramas during holidays and publish them on my web site.
The Drivepano project aims to bring 360º High Quality Street View Images to the 360cities network.
I developed this project last year (2008) more as a proof of concept, but soon I began to enjoy riding my PanoCar and capture 360x180º panoramas with one click.
The Drivepano system uses a Multicam One Shot solution to capture thousands of High Quality geo located panoramas in a matter of hours.

In 1998 I was asked to provide online panoramic content for Virgin Atlantic. This comprised of photographing multiple aircraft cabins and various Virgin Clubhouses and departure lounges at Heathrow and Gatwick. The project was a success and my interest in high resolution panoramic photography was born.
Two years later I was recording the construction of the new steps, from the National Gallery to Trafalgar Square, in panoramic format and converting to video for TfL.

The most recent project is a full 50+ node VR tour of Vassar College - www.vassar.edu.
Photography is my passion, and I know it's yours. When other tourists turn over in their beds or are having a scrumptious dinner, we find ourselves outside, trying to get the light just right on that one subject we have been trying to catch all week. "How many photos can you take of that?" people ask. "Until I capture it the way I want it," we know the answer is; and then some more.
For the panoramas, I use a Pentax K20D with a Sigma 10-20mm F/4-5.6 EX DC lens and a Nodal Ninja 3 MKII panoramic head.
I was born in Milan, Italy, in December 1967.
In 2019, I moved with my family to Lovere, a beautiful medieval village (although its earliest historical traces date back to a few decades before Christ, with a necropolis found beneath the current football field of the Oratory) on the western shore of Iseo Lake, just a few steps away from Val Camonica.
I love music, photography and art in general, and whenever I can, I enjoy traveling!
For a few years now, I have been experimenting with immersive photography, aiming to showcase the beauty of our territory and share it online.
I have been creating 360-degree panoramas since 2006. In 2008, my partner Jared Varon and I founded Circlescapes Virtual Tours. Circlescapes works closely with businesses in many different industries and located all over the USA and even the world. Our virtual tours feature full-screen, fully spherical images, a customized interface and the ability to add lots of different media, like video, audio, slideshows and more.
We are excited to be contributing to the 360Cities website. Please get in touch with us if you want to partner, ask us a question or hire us to do some panoramas for your project!
Born 1968 in New Zealand, by the time I was 6 I found that a steady supply of empty cigarette packets were a great place to draw, and I did to a large degree. Because these packets were small my sketching became quite detailed; which is the reason why for the rest of my life I was so obsessed with detail, often much to the annoyance of my friends. Now though not quite so much as age has brought, to a certain degree, the ability to compromise.
In 1977 we moved to Windsor England and I've lived in the area ever since.
In 1986 I can remember walking past a camera store and being fascinated by the cameras. It wasn't long before I had my first camera and yes you guessed it, an Olympus OM10. It wasn't too long before I had the mother of all systems; a Nikon F3 and all the accoutrements.
I acquired a passion for super field of view quite early on and was often taking multiple shots with just a 50mm and sticking them together to make photo montages or mosaics.
For a long time after I didn't touch a camera until about 2007, when I realised that with modern tech I could do everything and more that I always dreamed of doing back in the late eighties, early nineties.
The equipment I use is:
Canon 5D mkII with either EF 15mm or Sigma 8mm put on a Manfrotto 303SPH panorama tripod head then edited with a combination of Photoshop CS5, Autodesk Stitcher Unlimited 2010 and Pano2VR.
If you want to contact me, my address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
We don't do commercial photography and we are not interested in shooting as a means of income. We shoot beautiful scenic spots in Rostov-on-Don for the story and would be grateful to anyone who will give us a unique, beautiful place to shoot.
We mainly engaged in video shooting in 4K and spherical panoramas shooting less.
Our video Channel about Rostov-na-Donu can watch it on YouTube: ROSTOVisualFX
Beginners in Spherical photos can recommend our video tutorial on Erasure of the tripod in the Nadir (bottom panorama) and add there own logo.
All of our panoramas was made on camera 360 Samsung Gear, if You are satisfied with is the quality of our panoramas you can recommend to purchase this camera.
Although this camera has a number of disadvantages. The occurrence of perspiration and condensation, through 15 shooting this is the worst drawback.
Also Gear 360 supports only a very limited number of compatible phones (SGS 6 and SGS 7 only). Although the camera can run autonomously without connection to the phone at all. But in this case You will not be able to change the settings of White Balance, exposure Compensation, ISO Limit, and also enable HDR mode. However, there is a solution, we had programmers, and they did a modified version of the application supported by older phones (SGS4 for example), as well as phones from other manufacturers (other than Samsung).
Download a modified version of remote app for Samsung Gear 360 with support for all phones running Android 5.x You can follow this link: Samsung Gear 360 Manger Mod RVFX360

Been photographing Virtual Tours and Large Panoramas for the past 4 years. I started out photographing interiors for a realestate developer and later started creating gigapixel panoramas of the Overberg (Kleinmond, Hermanus, Betty's Bay, Pringle Bay, Gordons Bay) area where I live.
Is a proud Filipino. Living in the Philippines.
A photographer, backpacker, traveler, mountaineer, mountain biker and a chef wanna-be based in Manila, the Philippines. Recently have been concentrating on 360-panorama virtual tour photography, but is still loving landscape and travel photography.
Professional nature and landscape photographer with a drone. I make aerial photos, videos and 360 degrees panoramas.
I live in the Netherlands. Most of my photos and panoramas are made in Iceland and the Netherlands.
I can't remember when I saw a spherical for the first time, but I remember that it fascinated me. It is such a great way to transport yourself around the world.
I made my first panoramic back in 2007 with a homemade panoramic head. I got myself a proper panohead in 2008 and have dipped in and out of the hobby ever since.
I work making technical computer graphics animations for engineering companies. Sometimes I use my panoramics as backgrounds or reflection maps in my work, but for the most part I make panoramics just for fun.
Typically I don't have enough time for photography, let alone panoramics, but a recent injury has forced me to cut down on sports and find some more relaxing activities.
I make my panoramics with a Canon EOS 7D, Sigma 8mm or Sigma 10-20mm, Nodal Ninja, and the fantastic PT GUI.
I am really pleased to be a member of 360cities. The website provides a fantastic way to share and explore panoramics, and the integration with Google Earth is simply fantastic.
My other creative hobbies are:
Making short films of my sports:
and regular photography:
Photographer by passion, dreamer and wanderer. My passion for panoramas and wide views lead me to approach 360pano as the final point of immersion in the scene, my dream to create panoramas in every nation of the world hoping that in the future they will be free and peaceful.
My camera since I started is always a Sony, first the a7r then the a7r2 and the a7r4. I use lenses like 12-24mm Sony, 14mm Sony and Zeiss Loxia 21mm.

Since 2004 I run my own photographic business. Panoramic photography is just one of the things I do, but defenitely the most fun part. In my own studio I also create 360° photo's of all kinds of products via a mostly automated system.
Since 2012 I also am a "Google Trusted Photographer", which means that I can make a virtual tour of any business coupled to Google Maps. More info on the Kijk360 nl website
I started 360 degree panoramics in January 2009, just in time for a trip to Chile and Argentina. We visited mostly the southern parts of the countries including the lake districts and Patagonia.
In April 2009 I spent a week touring some amazing US National Parks including Bryce, Zion, Arches and Mesa Verde, lots of fantastic panorama opportunities!
My equipment includes a Canon 40D, Nodal Ninja 3 panorama head and PTGui software.

oder wie man in unserer Region sagt... Moin.
Good Day ,
or how in our region says ... Moin.
Nice that you are on my Site at 360Cities , I hope you enjoy the look of my spherical Panoramas .
I'm in 1965 in Norden (East Frisia) born and have lived in the meantime in many East Frisian Places.
For over 14 Years I live in the beautiful city of Aurich and do around here most of my Shots.
My first Camera I bought at the tender age of 6 Years. After long work breaks I photographed with a analog SLR to digital technology then got the upper Hand .
I photograph at the Time with the Panomaxx2-Premium Nodalpunktadapter of Konado.
Most of my spherical Panoramas I do in HDR (bracketing).
I hope you enjoy looking at the spherical Panoramas and while exploring the beautiful East Frisia.
This is the part where I’m supposed to write about myself in the third person – as if someone hijacked my website and decided to say a bunch of great stuff about me.
Instead I’ll say this: I’m just a regular everyday normal guy who likes to take pictures.
I havent been to the moon or to the bottom of the sea. But I have travelled and lived in many far away places and had a lot of amazing adventures. I've taken a lot of neat photos along the way.
I’ve been published in books and magazines, but not nearly enough to be a super famous millionaire. My parents are proud of me and love my pictures and thats the better than any amount of money or fame I could ever get.
I'm a curious person by nature and I like to combine science, nature and technology to create art and explore the amazing universe that we live in, from photos of tiny ants drinking from a drop of water to giant galaxies colliding with each other in space.
I believe that if I can take a photo that enables a person to see something in a new way, pause for a moment and think or ask a question, I believe that I have done my job as a photographer.
I could list my publication credits and professional accomplishments, and tell you what other people have said about me but my mom and dad would be more than happy to do that job for me.
Lets be friends, better yet, lets take a trip to the moon. - Jeff
Born in 1964, one of the things Kesto M Haleem is well known for is his passion for Maldivian history. From what started as holding on to what his late father left behind, he has found the historian in him he didn’t know he had.
Growing up with a father who was a collector of historical mementos, Kesto M Haleem was constantly enveloped with the love for tradition and culture. He is a researcher on Maldivian history and holds a valuable photo archive of precious moments from our past.
The historian that he is, preserving it for our coming children, he himself is painting his path in the Maldivian historical canvas.
I am a graduate student at the University of New Mexico. Panoramas have become quite a hobby for me. Please contact me if you're in the Albuquerque area you'd like a panorama made for promotional purposes, indoor or outdoors. rlhelinski AT gmail DOT com
My current spherical panorama process includes exposure bracketing for high dynamic range (HDR), and yields a 14000x7000 (98MP) equirectangular image.

Photographed in Hiroshima in October, 1945.
The photographer’s comments:
On October 1, 1945, I stood at the hypocenter of the Hiroshima atomic bombing and made a slow revolution. In that instant I had a difficulty grasping that this city had been felled by a single explosion. Nothing in my experience had prepared me to conceive of that magnitude of destructive force.
Working as an army engineer for three years, I had dealt with explosive materials on a daily basis, and I thought I knew their power. Standing there, I simply could not accept at an emotional level that a single bomb had done all this.
See the other Hiroshima 1945 panoramas.
I'm a Physics and Chemistry Agrégé teacher in Lycée St-Paul High School, Vannes (France) and PhD in Planetary Sciences.
When I was 10, I discovered Saturn in a telescope: I was amazed by the vision of its rings through the eyepiece, I realized there are worlds out there! Since then, I became a space enthusiast with a more particular interest for planet Mars and its exploration.
I spend my spare time processing photos taken by Curiosity rover to share with the public its journey on the red planet.
I'm also involved in public outreach by giving talks about astronomy, astrophysics, planetary sciences and exobiology.
Hi! Thanks for taking a look at my gigapixel panoramic images. These images average 220 Megapixels and are each created from over 100 pictures from my camera. I also shoot larger, rectangular panoramas that can be as larger as 5 Gigapixels and are also available at Photosynth.net and GigaPan.org, where I am known as GigaView and GigaView360, respectfully.
In April 2010, I made a virtual tour of the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River in northern Arizona, United States. Through 360Cities.net, you are now able to join my friends and I on our rafting adventure through the jewel of America's Best Idea. From several of our lunch stops, camp sites, and side canyon hikes, you will find deeply immersive panoramas that are now also available in the rich context of Google Earth. The virtual tour is called Grand Canyon GigaView.
As a former Google Maps Street View photographer (with Immersive Media) and former expedition river guide, I guess it was only natural that I would feel the need to share this journey immersively online. Grand Canyon GigaView has been a not-for-profit labor-of-love that was 100% sponsored by a Kickstarter.com fund raising campaign. Thank you to all of my generous "backers"!
Although I have been involved with immersive imagery for 6 years, Grand Canyon GigaView was my first project to use gigapixel photography and I have been addicted to the technique since. GigaPixel photography is the perfect compliment to my original expertise, 360 degree video, an emerging medium that immerses the viewer in the entirety of an experience.
GigaView360 fully immerses users with 360 degree video and gigapixel imagery. Any experience can be entirely documented and relived online. Viscerally connecting users with deeply explorable content engages, educates, and entertains. 360 Degree Video brings the experience to life, while GigaPixel Photography offers never-before-seen detail. Skillfully combining & applying these new media technologies for client projects is what we do at GigaView360.
I just started VR photography this year, 2009. My VR equipment includes a full-frame, CMOS sensor, Canon 5D, 8 mm Sigma lens, Nodal Ninja head on a Basalt Gitzo tripod. Processing is done using PTGui Pro running on a MacBook with two external HDs and a 22 inch monitor. HDR panoramas are my standard product. Tallahassee, my hometown, is the Capitol of Florida, and a University town with Florida State University and Florida A&M. Located in north Florida, Tallahassee is surrounded by national forest and and is 25 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. Therefore, there are abundant photographic opportunities here, but I do travel, primarly to visit family in Virginia and to hike in the mountains of the western US.

I've had a life-long interest in photography that started back in the film days. I even had a darkroom at one point. Then came digital and things really got fun.
I've always viewed photography as a way to show others as realistically as possible the beautiful places on earth. For years I felt like standard single-frame photography was like looking through a key-hole.
Then came single-row panoramas and the key-hole opened up. I could photograph to some degree what I was seeing.
Finally, I found spherical panoramas and the key-hole is gone - one more dimensional limitation removed. Now I feel like I can show the viewer what I saw.

My personal work, my passion is fine art nature and landscape photography. A great hobby but no way to make a living these days! I enjoy extracting the little things out in the woods and prairies - insects on flowers, abstract forms and colors that others may pass by unnoticed. The flip side of that are grand landscapes and cloudscapes of the prairies, lakes and forests near my home. I have been experimenting with different techniques lately – focus stacking (PS5), spherical panoramas (PTgui) and HDR (Photomatix). In general I do most of my editing in Adobe Lightroom 3, then some Photoshop as necessary. I try to keep editing to a minimum – cropping, color correction and sharpening. The goal is to get it right when it is shot! You may visit my website, www.hennemanphoto.com, to see more examples of my work.
Marios Lefteriotis (marlef), is mainly Construction Engineer, but also filmmaker, photographer, digital artist and creator of three-dimensional photography and film. His short film "REQUIEM for humanity", has been extensively reviewed and maintains its originality even to-day (2014), 44 years after its release date (1970) .. From his books, one titled "THE THIRD DIMENSION IN THE ATHENS 2004 OLYMPIC GAMES" (not published yet), contains 230 3-D Anaglyph photos, broadly reviewed (30 of them) on the web.In addition to these, 750 documents from his family archives in Corfu, dating since 1631, have been donated to the State Historical Archives of Corfu and everybody can review them. You may also review them at his pages. Besides, many of his photos and paintings, which are free, are presented in several galleries on the web and evaluated by many photographers, worldwide.
My focus is on 360 degree panoramic images in virtual tours for commercial real estate properties to use in marketing.
My goal is to create 360 degree panoramic online tours viewing experiences where the viewer receives an experience that is as close as possible to the actual experience of being at the place where the panorama tour was shot using high quality images. This marketing feature will significantly reduce the time it takes for prospects to tour properties and allow landlords and listing agents to close transactions faster by having prospects ready to purchase before physically visiting a property.
I am also a Google Trusted Photographer allowing me to create virtual tours on Google maps to promote businesses. Feel free to contact me at 425-391-8900 with any questions.

These panoramas are about New Castle, Delaware where I live. I went to college in Williamsburg, VA, which probably gave me a love for Colonial Revival buildings and history! After careers in biochemistry, pharmacology, bioinformatics and finally GIS and database work in the newsroom of a daily newspaper I've retired and am spending time working on the New Castle history website http://nc-chap.org. 360cities provides a virtual reality way to get to see the town.
I run a Virtual Tours company based in Cornwall, Truro - UK (Into3D - www.into3d.co.uk). I started out designing websites back in 1994 & since then have found that the technologies available to designers have massively increased. I remember seeing a 360 for the first time and being awestruck, since then I have never looked back. 360 photography is now the main focus of my company & I feel privileged that I can spend every day doing what I love most.

Photography has always been something for which I've always had an affinity. So much so that I persued and earned a Bachelors of Science degree in photography at Sam Houston State University. I've freelanced and was the photo editor of the university newspaper for a few years. I am currently serving in the United States Navy and have had the good fortune to have literally been around the world. While photography is not my job in the Navy (I'm actually a nuke electrician), it's still very much a hobby and something on which I'm still trying to hone my skills. I find that these 360 panoramas are as much a techincal challenge as much as it is an artistic challenge. They bring me back to far flung place I may never visit again, as if I were actually there. I hope you enjoy what I have to offer!

I started with 360 photography in 2015, when I realized that it was the only way to capture some of the places we were visiting on our 3 year odyssey on our sailboat, Dream Catcher.
Now that our boat is gone and we're back on land, I can visit these places again and dream of the water and unlimited vistas.
I am currently using a Nikon D750 with a Samyang 8mm f/3.5 HD Fisheye. I use a NodalNinja R1 mount.

Climbing, traveling, photography and science are the important activities in my life. These activities are connected with each other and they are helping me differently on my way of life. I do climbing since 1998. The first place it brought me where (after almost whole Europe) was Peru (2003). Afterwards I´ve visited Russia (Kaukaz), Canada, Madagascar and U.S. My first digital camera was OlySP500 (in 2006), now I´m using Nikon D200. Since the very first moments I was captured and fascinated by the world of panorama pictures. My aim is to capture and document places I´ve visited as realisticly as possible and here you can see some of my results.

I've always been interested in photography, especially digital photography. When I discovered panoramic photography, I was immediately hooked. It has limitless possiblities and a fantastic future I think. While the equipment and software can be some what pricey, the reward is well worth it. I hope you enjoy my panos!
I'm rather a sporadic pano-photographer. I've read a lot more. Panotools[NG] lurker since 2004. I didn't think digital cameras would take on particularly well because they just took tooo long between pressing the shutter button and taking the photo, until Nikon's D70 cemented digital photography's validity for me.

Graduated in architecture, I started working with 360º photography in 1998 when I worked in a team in the creation of a CD about a region of Portugal. The 360º exploration of buildings and landscapes has always attracted me (worked with 3D and visualization for other architects), and since then I have never stopped capturing my country in 360º. The idea is not to win a photography contest, but to document a country with a long and rich history, interpreting each place visited.
... my family blog see http://fettr.blogspot.com. My first panoramas were shot by "ancient" camera Canon G3, later replaced by wide angle G11. Hand made panohead and Hugin (+ patience) are in the drawer now. Nodal Ninja II panohead and PTGui Pro are my current tools together with the Canon 70D + Samyang 8mm lens.

Photographer, software developer, image manipulator, photo creator
My 20 years' experience with computers started with purchasing a C64.
With no knowledge of a way to combine my two passions of photography & computers at the time, I abandoned computers and began a career in photography.
I studied 3 years and received a Diploma of Fine Craft in Photography. I did not leave computers behind, using Apple computers for desktop publishing to complete graphic assignments.
In the years to follow I was using computers more and more to manipulate photographs. My passion for computers increased. With the goal of combining photography manipulation and computers, I added a Bachelor's degree in computers to my list of completed education.
Now I am an Imaging Software Engineer. I have contributed to the open source software Panotools, which combines images together to create spherical panoramas. Along the way I have learned many aspects of computers and am armed with copious knowledge of graphic software.
I'm photographing since 1997. In the beginning I only worked with black and white material which I developed in my own darkroom. Currently I'm working in colour and black and white with a fully digital workflow. The results of this workflow are printed on Hahnemühle papers with pigmented inks.
Back in 2004 I started to take panoramic pictures. Initially the results were only parts of spherical images. Since 2006 I take full spherical images like the ones on this site. In 2008 I started to work on reprojections of this artwork to be able to print spheric panoramic images on flat surfaces.

What you see here, basically, are my holiday snaps.
I may have gone the extra mile to do them as panoramas, but they are more about capturing the moment, to remind me of what the places I visited were like, rather than some super-glossy work of art.
As such they are far from perfect, but I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Feel free to leave comments - any feedback welcome.

I am working as a network administrator in one of automotive companies located in Poland. On the begining of the year 2009 I have returned to my old hobby: photography. I have started with an older camera: Sony A100, which seemes to me be powerfull enough for the panoramic photography, I like to start to do. My first trying I have made with a kit lens of Sony camera 18-70/3,5-5,6. Than I have bought a budget fish eye lens: Falcon 8mm/3,5. Using that lens I have takien most of my panoramas

Finished sailing around the world in between November 2009 and June 2015 as captain of Tahina Expedition. This is how we managed to get panoramas from so many unique locations and countries. I am also the founder and publisher of Google Earth Blog and am particularly glad that these photos appear in Google Earth.
I enjoy photographing outdoor settings.
The weather in this part of the world gives me a lot of opportunity to take cameras and the light quality is usually excellent.
When I don't have my SLR handy I shoot single row panoramas with my iPhone and it gives reasonable results too.
My 360 panorama software of choice is Hugin.
Living from aerial filming and aerial photography since 5 years now. Since then I allways was "playing" with aerial panoramas but never got the complete satisfaction. Finding new techniques and workflows a few month ago, I'm getting the fealing to come closer and closer to how a aerial panorama should look like...:-)

Christian Kleiman was born in Alicante, Spain in 1969. He started photography in 2006 when he discovered how to obtain photos from a self build remote-controlled camera system that he used to hang on a flying parasail towed by his boat.
Christian first specialized in aerial photography where he started taking pictures from his “flying camera” of other boats in sailing races.
When he decided to make a living out of photography he specialized as well in 360 panoramic photography.
And by merging these two techniques he managed to create 360 aerial panoramic photos, which back at that time in 2012, were only developed by a few photographers.
After service as a freelance photographer in aerial photography, 360 immersive photography, and the creation of virtual tours, Christian moved to New Zealand in 2014, where during the following eight years he focused on specific locations in Polynesia, especially in New Zealand and the Fiji Islands for his surreal concept series; "What a Wonderful World".
Christian is currently established in the United Arab Emirates as a fine art photographer pursuing projects in which he can apply his creative techniques and discover new ways of expression.
Coming from a nautical background, he evolved in an environment surrounded by the sea. Constantly aware of the complete scene, as far as the eyes can see. This has marked an extraordinary influence on how this photographer represents his creations based on images where you can “see it all”.
Christian Kleiman is a photographer who through inspiration and self-teaching evolves continuously by exploring new ways of expression in search of the unseen perspective.

Capturing the moment or seeing something through a different angle or even creating an atmoshere to suit the needs of what I'd like to show is what photography to me is all about. Being able to apply all this to panoramas and showing it through a technology that is trully exciting takes it to a new level for me.
I first became interested in photography when I was a teenager, and it quickly developed into a hobby. Fast forward 50 years and I'm still at it.

Only recently I started taking spherical panoramas. They are a great way to share the natural beauty of Oregon. I love that they give the viewer a more immersive experence.
Chris Ellenbogen grew up in western North Carolina in a small artist community near Penland School of Crafts. He went to college in Boone, NC and graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Photography. After college Chris spent some time living in the Caribbean on a small island called Vieques, off the east coast of Puerto Rico. Chris had traveled before this but found that living in a different culture rather than visiting as a tourist was a far richer experience. On his return to the US mainland, Chris moved to Birmingham AL and did freelance work with Coastal Living, Cooking Light and Southern Living Magazines. He loves traveling and worked for East Carolina University Italy Intensives study abroad program, living in the Tuscany region of Italy for two years. He helped run the program by teaching photography and leading group trips. He has extensive travel experience throughout much of Europe. He was most recently employed in the photography department at Southern Living Magazine in Birmingham AL. Chris has diverse editorial, freelance and studio photography experience. His technical skills include 360x180 or whole world panoramas. Chris is currently a freelance photographer based in Washington DC.
I am a Network Administrator, by trade, working with Development Alternatives providing IT support to USAID projects around the world; and a world traveler / amateur photographer at heart. I enjoy travelling to new places, seeing new things, and taking pictures of everything I see. For me photography is an attempt to capture the world the way I see it, preserve it for memory, and sharing those visions with others. When I first started traveling for work in 2003 I carried a small 3 megapixel point-and-shoot camera with me everywhere I went. As work has continually taken me to more places around the world and has shown me many more things to capture I found, that as much as I enjoyed it, the little point-and-shoot camera was no longer enough and I started to invest in new equipment. Ever since I have been travelling on a frequent basis and you almost never find me more than 5 feet away from my camera, which is always at the ready. This website allows me to not only preserve those incredible places, but it also gives me a way to share those moments with others. I hope you enjoy browsing through my collection and that you visit again.

My passion is photography and I have been fascinated by panoramic photography for a long time. I dislike the idea of limiting my view to less than what the human eye is used to see. I've specialized in high-resolution and aerial photography.
In 2007 I have developped the GigaPanBot, a motorized, automatic rotating pan and tilt head designed to capture high resolution panoramic images using digital DSLR camera.
Since 2011 I build custom drones and used to capture aerial panoramic images and aerial tours.
Meanwhile I have specialized in 360° video production with a special focus at 360° aerials.

In 2008 I shot a series of 360° Virtual Reality panoramas for Qatar Airways of the interiors of their A340 Airbus aircraft and First and Premium Class Terminals in Doha. I am also working on a five year project for the Department of Culture of the Catalan Government, shooting 360° VR interactive panoramas of all their important heritage sites, from Dali to Gaudi and from Roman ruins to Romanesque churches.
I have always enjoyed photography, wildlife and travel, so upon retirement, have pursued all these passions. Photography, is however, my greatest passion. In the last 6 years, my focus has been on wildlife photography. I have been fortunate to have close to a million hits on my pbase site, a museum showing, pictures published in magazines and bird books, many prints displayed and sold at our local bird store and over 200 photos on the Apple Ibird Pro application. Always up for a challenge, I am now enjoying the VR 360 panoramas. Hope you enjoy them as well.

I learnt to do 360 spherical images for the computer graphics i create. I was able to create light probes from stiching bracketed images which allowed me to easily composite 3d objects into a scene.
Now it has evolved beyond that to an artform. I really like to try and find places that look beautiful once they are unfolded into the equilatteral format.

I am into photography since my childhood. In 1997 I started with panoramic photography. In 2002 I created a virtual tour for my village with more then 110 cylindrical panoramas, long before anybody was talking about google streetview. The first spherical panos followed the same year. Taking pictures makes me happy and taking panos as well :-)
I'm retired now and have some "inconveniences" with my health, so fast and flashy photographing is a little bit difficult, but I discovered shooting 360x180° panoramas is my cup of tea and is something I can handle with lightweight and small photo gear when I go "hunting panoramas" with my mobility scooter in my region called "Het Gooi" en Vechtstreek. It's centrally located between Amsterdam, Utrecht and Amersfoort and avaried, green part of the Netherlands. You find heath, forests, lakes, rivers, polders, old towns and villages, modern architecture and it's known as the home for the rich and famous (unfortunately not me) Hope you appriciate my panos of this region.
My Pano Gear:
# Samyang 8mm F3.5 Fisheye NX-mount
# Samsung NX100 APS-C sensor 14.6 MP
# Triopo Magnesium-Aluminium alloy Tripod model MX-1327
# Falcon Eyes Light Stand L3900GA/B for elevated panos for camera (incl. pano head) on 4,2m/14ft (despite the moderate height it gives a nice natural spatial effect)
# FLM LB60 levelling base
# Sunwayfoto DDP-64S click-stop rotator
# Pano-MAXX spherical panorama head
# Pixel RW-221 E3 wireless remote control
# Kettlebell 4kg as small counterweight
# Samsung RAW Converter - convert RAW images to Tiffs upto ±3EV
# PhotoMatix Essentials - for Exposure Fusion and contrast control
# PTGui (standard edition) - for stitching panoramas
# pano2vr - for easy editing in flat cube faces and reconvert back to equirectangular projection
# PaintShop Pro X4 - for general editing
A typical panorama shoot for the Samyang (180° FOV) consists of 6 horizon level images in portrait mode (60° sectors give convenient overlap zones). Camera a little pointed to the ground (-10°~-12°) to make a small nadir footprint (easy to edit) and 1 or 2 Zenith images tilted up to +60° above the anchor image and optional the second one in opposite direction to generate a lot of control points for stitching. In case of situations with moving objects (pedestrians, cyclists, cars, some times clouds, etc) I shoot only 4 images on horizon level and 1 zenith. Shooting 90° sectors only with the click-stop rotator for precision due to very narrow overlap zones. My distance setting for the Samyang Fisheye is 3m and aperture mostly set to F8 and this results in a DOF (depth of field) of 30/40cm~infinity with (almost) max. sharpness. Smaller apertures (F11~F22) have more DOF but lesser general sharpness by diffraction = light scattering through a particularly small aperture.
Unfortunately on May 20th 2017, Dick Schippers passed away at the age of 70. His panoramas will remain available as beautiful memories.

The images presented here are the story of my experiences in the field of photography. Photography has the ability to carry each of us wherever it is possible for a human being to carry a camera or anything else for shooting pictures. It gives us a unique experience that everyone can appreciate in his own way. I'm not a professional photographer in that I do not take pictures because of a profession, but rather because for me it is a passion; it is a pleasure trip, and I continue to play with photography purely for the experience. When a person can tell a story through images it goes far beyond a simple depiction; to capture a moment that in a sense becomes eternal is a skill that requires a lot of practice and patience. What has always caught my attention are the people: their way of life, their relationships with others and their world, and above all, the small fragments of their lives expressed through their gestures. To capture these moments is like stopping time; there is the power to hold in one click something that would otherwise be forever lost. This ability to capture and preserve something that is not mine, but is very intimate and conveys a mood has always fascinated me ... photography has the ability to isolate a moment, a gesture, an action - and eliminate the superfluous - capturing the emotion that is an integral part of that one moment. Recently I have been dedicated to exploring panoramic photography, searching for a simple way to convey to others the feeling of being truly on the site. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to allow others to see things in the same way I saw them with my own eyes.

I am a secondary school science teacher based in Cornwall, UK. My main camera is a Canon 1000D and I enjoy dabbling in HDR photography - using Luminance HDR, and panoramic photography - using Hugin. My main image editor is the GIMP and I have a home-made panoramic tripod, which is proving adequate, but will need to be upgraded soon!

I am a native German and have lived nearly 30 years in Asia, mostly in Indonesia. In the 80’s I worked as a producer, rostrum camera operator and photographer for a well known Indonesian MultiMedia company! I created innovative, unseen large screen multi-image presentations of up to 15 projectors for clients like Unilever, Honda, Pertamina, Modern Group and Indonesian Government Departments. Later, as a freelance photographer, I worked for Jakarta’s international agencies in the field of corporate, advertising and hotel photography. Reportage assignments for magazines like "Geo France", "Der Spiegel", "Die Zeit", APA Travel Guide rounded up the fascinating job as a photographer.
1997, I started to experiment with Panorama Photography and developed the "roundshot360" photography combined with virtual tours in an outstanding quality for full frame, Internet and print media. Prints of Panorama shots for exhibitions or posters can be enlarged up to 5m. Beside this love for roundshot360 images, I never stopped to work as a "conventional" photographer!

I've got the right tools for the job:
Canon 40D dSLR camera
Sigma 8mm f/3.5 fisheye lens
Nodal Ninja spherical tripod head
SLIK 400 tripod
and much more.
As I said, hope you enjoy my stuff. All comments are welcome. I like flattery best.
Taking pictures motivates me since about 25 years. Starting in the analog time with a b/w and color lab at home I now use a Canon 300D and 40D. Technologies learned during the analog time could be imrpooved and new digital technolgies enables to expanded the horizon of photography. Cubic panoramas are a good example for such a new technology that requires digital processing.
For panorama pictures I use a Canon 40D body with a Peleng 8mm f/3.5 lens and a Manfrotto 303plus combined with Novoflex panorama=Q head. For stitching I use PTGuiPro.
If you would like to see some other pictues taken by me, I would like you to invite to visit my gallery: http://www.jenshaun.de
My interest in photography started in elementary school when I was about 12 years old. That is a long time ago with film and mostly black and whites.
From 1995 to 2005 I used both film and digital cameras. Today I never use film anymore, even if I have a collection of still working film cameras. The oldest is from 1916 and was my grandgrandfathers. The newest is my Minolta Dynax 7000i from 1990.
The way photography is today is really fantastic. Just say Photoshop, Lightroom, HDR, stacking, tilt shift, full frame sensors, panorama technique and so on. I do not miss all chemicals and all waiting to see how your pictures turned out.
Today I use a Nikon and an Iphone for my photografy experiences.
I'm a retired software and systems engineer who worked in cancer research, medical imaging and chip design. I got hooked on panoramic photography in 2004, when I converted a document scanner into a rotating digital slit camera. Eventually built 5 of those; but finally realized I could only get the pictures I wanted by using real cameras and stitching software.
I got into developing open source panography software (Hugin, libpano) around 2008. In 2009, I co-rediscovered an 18th century painters' technique for rendering wide views in a natural looking perspective, and have been evangelizing it unde the name "Panini projection" (it has been implemented several times and is also called the "vedutismo" and "recti-perspective" projection). I developed and published several programs that offer new ways to control wide angle photo and video perspective, under the general name, "Panini".
My latest effort is PT3D, a helper program for stitching stereoscopic panoramas with PTGui. I hope eventually to develop a true 3D stitching tool, that can combine hand-held stereo snapshots into seamless spherical panoramas.

I'm a 37 year old husband and father of two (foremost). I have lived in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area for most of my life. My home is in Pacifica, which is two cities south of San Francisco on the coast.
My first pano was on a nikon 950 and Kaidan pano head using VR works about 9 years ago. I had a long interval where I did not produce any panoramas. I eventually thought I'd get back into the field - and I first started with a 0-360 one shot lens. Soon I upgraded to a more updated pano head from Kaidan for cylindrical panoramas.
And then, everything changed. A friend of mine sent me a full screen panorama made with HDR techniques. I was floored. I realized that there was something big going on - and I wanted to be a part of it.
I started researching sites, and living in on-line forums, to discover what I needed to do to create such images. In my journey, I have gone from wanting do to this hobby/profession for money to wanting to increase my skills for the love of the art that is panoramic photography.
I will keep learning and experimenting so I can leave my tours for others to see for years to come.

Dr. Tina Gauer, born and raised in Dortmund, Germany, moved to Egypt in 1995 to put her experience as a zoologist to practise and work as a diving instructor and dive guide on liveaboards throughout the Red Sea. She then moved on to fulltime underwater videography, incl. work for different international TV-channels, and land photography.

René van Gageldonk is an enthousiastic digital media designer/product developer and loves to create images; photography, video, stereoscopic (3D) video, motion graphics design, 3D animations and all of the above combined.
I love to capture surroundings, nice places and nice moments. Beauty should be saved, created and cherished. This implies that the tools I use are used to capture and beautify my subjects. My panoramic views are part of this. With this I create series of surroundings in their context.
I am a self taught amateur exploring 360 3D photography with a single camera. My basic setup includes one Sony a6000, a Rokinon 7.5mm shaved fisheye, a nodal ninja 3 and Manfrotto tripod. This rig allows for a minimum of 8 images (4 left, 4 right) which are stitched in ptgui and stacked top and bottom in Photoshop.
The basic challenge is time. It takes more than a minute to complete an 8 image stereo set with this rig. Even longer if attempting HDR. It is incredible how much will change in a scene in less than a minute. Tiny movements which go unnoticed in a 2D panorama will register in 3D as confusing depth cues which break the stereo illusion.
Time and stitching are the underlying issues in single camera stereo panoramas.
For more than 25 years I have been photographing. Covering important events like weddings and baptisms led to child photography and portrait photography.
Travelling in places like the Mediterranean region, China, Thailand, Borneo, Polynesia, Australia, Galapagos and South America has provided golden opportunities to capture motives within the categories of wildlife and nature which are additional two important elements in my work. Just as landscape, cityscape, and architecture are passions of mine; where also panorama and 360° images come into play.

Hello my name is Wilfried Pinsdorf and I work as a freelance photographer and photojournalist in Havixbeck (Germany) and Thezan-lès-Béziers (France). I specialized in digital 360 ° panoramic photography, landscape- and aerial-photographs for advertising and tourism industry. Besides my work as a photographer with an international audience is my great passion for landscape and travel photography, especially in the Languedoc-Roussillon and in northern Germany and the Netherlands and my love for sculpture and fine art still called :-)
We specialise in high-end 360˚ imagery, capturing + post-processing + VR tours.
Our photographer Peter won several awards:
I'm a 2D and 3D graphic designer freelancer from Italy. I stepped into panoramic photography on 2005. My first equipment was a Kaidan QuickPan IV rotator with a Standard Bracket for cylindrical shots. Later on I switched to Manfrotto 303SPH rotator for spherical panorama. Manfrotto 303SPH solution is very precise but too much heavy for travelling, so I decided to get a Fanotec NN3 in 2007, much better lighter and esier solution to carry on!
In the past I used a Nikon D-70 or a Nikon D-300, most of the times with the lightweight Fanotec NN3, a couple of lenses: Tamron 10/24 and a Nikkor 18/70 and a Manfrotto Digi 725B as tripod. Recently I got one Panasonic GH2 - 16Mpx (micro 4/3) with a 14-140 mm zoom.
I take panos expecially for sampling landscapes for HDR/IBL application in 3D sofwares or simply to have background plates for 3d architectural rendering.
In the last 10 years I've been in India, Sardinia (Italy), Cornwall (UK), Danmark, Norway, Mongolia, Indonesia, Madagascar and Japan.
Thank you for reading and stopping by!

Based in Bucharest, Romania but willing to travel wherever is a job to do. Over 13 years of webdesign/multimedia behind, did a lot of websites and interactive projects.
Years ago (in 2004), I've discovered the world of VR and got hooked. Self-thaught and trying to stay on the tech edge, I never stop learning and experimenting with 360 degrees.
Running my own company, producing 360 degrees panoramas, virtual tours, interior/architectural, food, landscapes, and other types of photography.
Being a self-taught photographer, I'm interested in and fascinated by Photography.
This passion accompanies me for many years of my personal and professional life in artistic and scientific fields. In particular, I have been exploring uses of macro- and microscopic, stereoscopic, infrared and panoramic photography.
Over the past years, since images can be digitally stitched together to create multi-megapixel or gigapixel images, I'm shooting wide-field compound images acquired through the microscope and spherical-panoramic views of my natural and industrial environment - for fun and on assignment.

Ever since I remember, I have lived my life through a viewfinder. I've purchased my first camera with the money I saved, at the age of 17.
That first roll of film was developed and my life was changed. I knew photography, was not just a hobby, but my future and my life.
I've gratuated from Azad university of Tehran in 2002 with bachelor's degree in photography, since then I have been involved in advertising and panaromic photoghraphy.
I have also participated in several local art fair and got very positive feed back.

Fire lookout towers
Cemeteries/specific graves/veteran memorials
Floral & botany
Trashed & destroyed vehicles
Anything of sentimental value

Hi all, This is Pablo Castillo ... I am an telecom and systems engineer by profession. The photography was my hobby, but now I am professional photographer too. I try to combine all my knowledge and I must say I love my job, thanks to this travel a lot and although I known some parts of the world. Where I live is a small place but it is spectacular ... Emrah was born in Balikesir in 1977 and graduated from High School in 1994. He graduated with a first class honours degree in Construction Engineering. He was then accepted for further degree in Civil Engineering at Balikesir University. As well as being a very accomplished architect, he is a 5th degree black belt in Karate-do. Emrah came to Kalkan in 2004 and fell in love with the location and the people. In 2005 he went into partnership with a local construction company and decided in 2007, to branch out on his own and formed TECHNIC & ART which he renamed beautifulkalkan in 2009.
I started photography in 1999 on film and my first digital camera, an Olympus. In 2001, I started working with a small entry-level camera from Nikon, the Coolpix 880. It was also the time I started panoramic photography.
From then on I have gone to like photography in many flavors especially Pinhole Photography and Medium format photography. Being a keen collector of antique cameras, I regularly use East German (Russian) Practika cameras with world famous Carl Zeiss lenses to do more artistic work, however my main interest still remains in Digital photography using my trusted Canon Digital and film kit.
I have been producing cylindrical panoramas for many years, as long as I have produced digital images. In 2010 I started to produce 360 panoramas. I use Canon photographic equipment with the 360 precision head.
Norfolk in England is my home county, I am slowly featuring more of this county in my images. I love the beauty, peace and serenity of Cathedral Churches, but my love of architecture, and my main occupation as an Aerospace and Automobile Design Engineer is also influencing my output.
I currently have 2 commercial commissions ongoing, and I would wecome more.
I've just retired as an English teacher and Director of Performing Arts and to fill the vacuum and stop me watching daytime television I've set up a small business, Go Panoramic, which specialises in 360 panoramic photography. (visit http[://www.gopanoramic.co.uk ). I produce virtual tours for websites, panoramic portraits and quirky equirectangular and Little Planet prints of landscapes and famous sites. I'm into literature, theatre, film, travel, bird-watching, sport and my family - not necessarily in that order. I get a real kick out seeing my shots full screen on 360 Cities and sharing them with photographers around the world on G+.
Born in 1981 in Berlin, Germany, and now a resident of Uppsala, Sweden, Florian's ambition for photography began as a child when his mother entrusted him more and more often with the family camera to take pictures of vacations or other events. Having been made aware already at an early age of important photographic qualities such as light, composition or the expression in peoples' faces has always encouraged him to go beyond simple “snapshots” and to continuously see the world with a photographic eye.
Today, Florian is an ambitious and avid amateur photographer, doing freelance work for various people and organisations where he lives. He loves to focus on landscape and architectural photography but also enjoys event photography, small portrait and studio sessions as well as product shoots and panoramic photography.
His panoramic photography and related services can be found over at www.pano.ie. This also includes photography workshops, both for groups and one-on-one training (be it locally or remote via Skype).
Traveling has always been a passion since young age & I have traveled extensively within India no wonder I choose photography as a profession at young age of 15. With the advent of digital technology I migrated completely to digital imaging because of panoramas. I did my 1st panorama in Feb 1997 using a borrowed sony cybershot digital camera, in1998 I was all in love with this form of wide panoramic art & since 1997 have done 1000s of partial 180° & full 360° spherical panoramas for tourism, hotels & industrial locations.
Panoramic images have a magic which is quite enchanting & that's the magic which pulls me into doing these panoramas.
I am a professional photographer shooting Interiors, Architecture & Industrial panoramic digital images past 22+ years. I feel extremely lucky that I was able to convert my 2 hobbies traveling & photography into my profession, for that reason I enjoy my work. I wish to bring the beauty of locations I visit with my panoramas.
Stephen is a qualified Electronics Technician, has a Diploma of Teaching (Technology) and a Diploma of Photography, a Google Photographer, has been involved in Graphic Design and Signage for over 20years and has over 10 years experience in Digital Photography.
Stephen's interest in art and design started at a very early age. A large proportion of his spare time was spent painting and drawing. He explored many mediums, acrylic, oil and water paints along with pencil, charcoal and air brush. After three careers; electronics, teaching and graphics; late in 2003 Stephen embraced digital photography. He found the new digital SLR cameras a perfect tool to synergise his technological expertise and artistic drive. 360° photography and virtual tours proved to be a natural progression from his artistic and technical background.

I own a business specialising in aerial photography, virtual tours and video using remote control helicopters as an aerial platform. I also do ground based virtual tours. Based in Belgium, Herman began taking photos about 15 years ago, first as a hobby developing into a real passion. He studied photography at the local art school. Being a keen mountaineer gave him ample opportunity for fantastic landscape and nature photos. However, he has also built up experience with studio and portrait work.
His pictures have been published in magazines like National Geographic as well as various newspapers. Some of his work can be found on his website, www.hermandesmet.be and also on his personal blog.
Herman has lately specialized in architecture, real-estate and panorama photography, expanding into 360° panoramas and virtual tours for internet use. He feels that nowadays everybody can make digital photos, but doing a perfect 360°-180°VR panorama is a skill on its own requiring special equipment and lots of practice, patience and knowledge of photography to get the best results. But when you succeed in making a gorgeous digital 360 panorama, it amazes people like they were amazed in the pre-internet era when they saw a huge print of a fantastic picture.
And, for Herman, amazing people is what his photography is all about.

I am currently on a quest to visit rural Japan where there are little/no 360 photos available. So my photos revolve mostly around nature and waterbodies, and tend to avoid places with people. Please take your time to enjoy the photos that I have shared, and check back often to see more~
Not really a business, just things I like to do and do pretty well. Photography, website development and bicyclung. I am no Lance Armstrong or George Hincapie, my photos have not appeared in National Geographic, yet. Nevertheless I get things done, pretty good. I start with bicycling. However I do not get paid for riding my bicycles. I get paid by doing a mix of the other things I like to do. Photography and website design. Cannot tell why my enjoyment and hobbies in life have come down to this list. If you can shed some light on it and/or need some help with any of the things that I enjoy doing, drop me an email or give me a call. Maybe we can take a bicycle ride and work it out.
Photo essays were my first passion in the 70s. In the 80s, I was Canada's most prolific pre-web online graphic artist. In the 90s, I became an independent (print) publisher. I have published several books, including the best-selling “Be Nice In 60 Languages” and the better selling “Be Rude In 60 Languages”.

firstname.lastname@example.org A little about me and pano's? Well, I started creating pano's as a side job, mainly for a home builder. Providing fully interactive virtual tours. At about the same time, my "real job" as a Land Surveyor, wanted me to create them as well. Now, any opportunity to create them I do. Whether at work or play, its all fun.

Major interests in my lifetime have been: 1. a study of learning, especially in outdoor environments; 2. an understanding of the concepts of "the commons" and "common adventure;" 3. the creative process of photography and multimedia communication; and 4. the collaborative opportunities made available on the Internet via the WWW, especially with Social Networking and Web 2.0, Web 3.0 and GeoWeb concepts.
I was born on 31st August 1959 in Finale Ligure. In my opinion the photographer is “who can find that small and hidden particular or detail (part of that universality we observe) that we don’t catch and communicate it through his eyes and works”.
I like to quote a beautiful thought of the French photographer Edoard Boubat (1923-1999): “You can’t become a photographer. You must live this work everyday, hour after hour, seizing the moment. The thousandth of second. Everything changes. Every moment. Only a step forward or back can damage the most perfect picture”.
My photos have been published in magazines, newspapers, national and international headlines like 24 Karati, Business People, Archeo etc. . I am partner as creative photographer of the National Association of Professional Photographers in Milano.
I am specialized in different genres: Advertising and Business Photography, Portrait, Ceremony, Landscape, Food and Still life, Stage Photography, Beauty, Real estate, Architectural and Interior Photography.
Report at the Photography Prize, Milano 2008: “The photographic production of Rescigno tends to find a remarkable balance between customers demand and his personal research of technical growth in this field (Roberto Tomesani – President of the National Association of Professional Photographers).
I travelled in the USA and in other countries of the world.
In 2002 I was selected by the International Events of Milano to represent the Italian photography for the “Independence day”: four evenings dedicated to the USA to celebrate 4th July.
From 2005 to 2010 I had my experience as official photographer and I collaborated with a press office to document and show the main activities and events of the city of Finale Ligure. In different occasions mass media focused on me with regard to my exhibitions.
I have improved my experience in theatre photography and from 2006 for several years I was one of the stage photographers of “Teatro della Tosse” in Genoa. I also lent my work to important theatre directors such as Maximilian Nisi.
I am also specialized in architectural photography and I challenged me in shots of big spaces with sophisticated techniques.
From 20 February to 20 March 2009 at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa, the “International Poetry Room” housed my exhibition “Immagini e parole” (pictures and words) after the collaboration with the famous Roman poet Antonella Pedicelli.
From 4 April to 11 May 2009 I held my exhibition “MASKS” about the charm and magic of Venice masks.
From 6 to 12 September 2009 I did a picture story on behalf of UNITALSI LIGURE. An extraordinary experience from the human and professional point of view. And then its exhibition “Pellegrinaggio a Lourdes”, with the support of the Department of Education Sciences and Training Processes of the University of Turin, supported by the department UNITALSI of Finale and housed by the exhibition room of the Archeological Museum in Finale.
Since 29 April 2010 I have held the exhibition “Dubai e dintorni”, a choice of my photos from my picture story in the Persian Gulf.
I have had the chance to photograph big figures of the society such as: Eva Herzigova, Oliviero Toscani, Gino Paoli, Markus Stockhausen, Eleonora Giorgi, Irene Grandi, Renato Zero, and famous models, Marguerite Guerin (first etoile comedienne in Paris) and Larisa Romanova. I photographed different bands.
I was coauthor of the book “Finale in Famiglia”, publishing house De Ferrari of Genoa.
On 29 May I inaugurated my exhibition “Sherazade” about the teachers and their students of the belly dance school, directed by Marta Vicini.
On 31 October 2010 I went to Nepal with the guide Carlo Mamberto and I did a picture story. The most part of these photos constitute my current exhibition “Namaste”, Nepal: from the Annapurna Circuit to the Chitwan Jungle; I opened it at the Oratory of the Disciplinanti in Finale Ligure and later in Genoa (in September, in the International Poetry Room of Palazzo Ducale) and in other towns.
In May 2012 I realized 8 big panels with Luca Forno and they have been used for conventions about Alzheimer. The pictures are inspired by the Horticultural Therapy conducted by the doctors of Galliera Hospital in Genoa under Prof. Ernesto Palummeri and cooperative’s charge. The exhibition’s supervisor was Marco Riolfo.
“I love thinking there is something magic in photography. I can have the power to stop every single moment and the time forever”.
Several years ago, I was struck by curiousity and an irresistible urge to discover the art of photography. The idea of capturing what you see, thus documenting the way you see the world, really intrigued me. Having bought my first DSLR, I embarked, aimlessly, to learn the basics and technical aspects of photography.
However, it wasn't until I stumbled across 2 award winning images, the first being “Guiding Light to the Stars” shot by Mark Gee and the second being "Distant Lands" by Michael Goh, that I knew what I wanted to focus on.
The moment where I saw an image of the Milky Way on a screen, to finally seeing it for myself in person and photographing it was one of the most profound moments of my life.
A S T R O R D I N A R Y documents my journey into the art of Astrophotography. Constantly learning new techniques, sharing knowledge, meeting new people and living new experiences.

Giuseppe Ghedina was born into a family of photographers. His grandfather, of the same name, was one of the pioneers of photography in Cortina d’Ampezzo and the Dolomites, but it was the younger Giuseppe’s passion for the mountains that made him discover photography for himself.
The practices of mountaineering, climbing, and backcountry skiing helped him discover the vast variety of different viewpoints the mountains of his country had to offer. It has also helped him envision the mountains that lie beyond Italy, as he has travelled all over the world and photographed in Nepal, Chile, Argentina, Norway, Pakistan, Svalbard, and Morocco.
Today Giuseppe is a professional photographer, and his passion for the mountains is communicated through his photography – outdoor sports, landscapes, and panoramas.
He works with magazines and specialized agencies, organizes photographic courses and workshops.
Conventional photography constrains us to flat, rectangular pictures. An 8x10” frame held at arms length only captures less than 1% of the entire visible sphere around us. This area is minuscule and neglects 99% of the world.
We compensate by snapping more pictures, assembling them into a montage to tell the whole story. But we have grown accustomed to this technique and are conditioned to think this is the only way to capture the world because it closely resembles the world as we perceive it. But how do other animals, without binocular vision, view the world? What about flies and birds and reptiles with panoramic vision? Or insects who can see in the non-visible spectrum? They see the world differently but their perspective is not “wrong”.
Open your mind and look at the world as it truly is, through a different lens, the 720° sphere fully surrounding us.
Photography is my passion. It is a wonderful way to preserve the beauty and magic of traditional Nepal and its myriad of cultural practices. Now that modernization is arriving here, the face of Nepal is shifting… These pictures retain the original essence… The true face of Nepal…
