The Market-Frankford Subway-Elevated is Philadelphia's longest urban rail line. The Northeast section, known as the Frankford El, which dominates several miles of Kensington and Frankford Avenues, has long been a favorite panorama subject. I took these on August 18, 2023. All except the terminal interiors are stereoscopic.

"The Ridge" separates the valleys of the the Schuylkill River and the Wissahickon Creek in Northwest Philadelphia. Its salient feature is a group of very tall steel towers, built to broadcast UHF television. There are still farms on the North end of the Ridge, and its steep Western slope has some remote and even wild places.

Created in 1692 as the Lower Burying Ground of Germantown, Hood Cemetery owes its present name to the 19th century donor of its grand balustrade and entry arch on Germantown Avenue.

Perched on a tiny rock in Narrangansett Bay, Clingstone Mansion has been a New England architectural landmark since 1905. Abandoned in the 1930s, it was largely restored by Boston architect Henry A. Wood between 1961 and 2010, when these photos were taken.

Villa Rusconi-Clerici is one of many grand houses in Pallanza, on Lago Maggiore in the Piedmont region of Italy near Switzerland. Once the summer residence of a Count with a gift for gardening, it is now operated as an upscale wedding venue.
